Day 13 : Inexhaustible Volunteering

Katy area:
- 7 houses were helped with Sheetrock cutting, removing doors, debris removing, moving furniture, loading U Haul and other cleaning Canyon Gates neighborhood.
- VT Seva Relief camp booth
- Served 570 meals by VT Seva volunteers in Canyon gates neighborhood.
- Food prepared by VT Seva volunteers
- Young volunteers made approximately 50 peanut butter jelly sandwiches at the tent and served
- Distributed lot of cleaning supplies and water.
Houston area:

VT Seva (Volunteering Together for Service) and its Sister Organizations Disaster Relief Highlights:

  • 2016 - Raised $30,388.95 to support immediate and long term relief operations during Chennai / Cuddalore floods
  • 2015 - Donated $10,001 to support 1000 year flood 'Joaquin' in South Carolina.
  • 2015 -Nepal Earthquake Relief - Raised $171,043 towards providing immediate relief of tents and blankets, and long term support of building a permanent structure school, with all the infrastructure needed for better education.
  • 2014 - Andhra Pradesh (India) Hudhud Cyclone Relief - Raised more than $30,000 USD and donated Rs. 10 lakhs ($17,000) for Chief Minister relief operations, volunteers distributed food & clothes for the people impacted
  • 2013 - Odisha (India) Phailin Cyclone Relief - Donated Lanterns (kerosene Lamps) to 600 families at Ganga Vihar, Kotha Buxipalli village
  • 2013 - Uttarakhand Floods (India) - Provided food and shelter to the people affected by floods in Himalayas
  • 2011 Japan Tsunami Relief - Donated ~$44,000 USD to Japan Government
  • 2010 Haiti Relief - VT Seva volunteers organized benefit shows, art exhibitions and participated in dance programs to raise funds for victims of the Earthquake and donated funds to UNICEF Haiti.
  • 2009 Andhra Pradesh Floods -
    • 5000 Flood Relief Kits, Flood relief kits to 10000 Families in 100 Villages
    • 300 Boats to Fishermen, Food and Free Medical Services​
    • Distributed 20Tons of Corn seeds worth of $100,000 to the Farmers(sufficient for 2500 Acre)
  • 2004 India Tsunami (Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh) - Built a School for children of fishermen children at Katarivaripalem in Prakasam District of Andhra Pradesh and Built 50 houses in the coastal areas of Pumpuhar village in Tamil Nadu.
  • 2001 India Earth Quake (Gujarat) - Built 86 Houses and a community hall in Vallabhapur, Gujarat
  • 1997 India Konaseema Floods (Andhra Pradesh) - Built 83 Community Centers, provided free food and medical services

Hurricane Harvey brings catastrophe. Time for us to stand together and Respond!


Two and a half days after Hurricane Harvey made landfall and dropped more than two feet of rain, thousands of people in Houston and along the Gulf Coast have been displaced. More than 30,000 people have been displaced and thousands of homes were evacuated. VT Seva (Volunteering Together for Service) is working to provide immediate and long term disaster relief to the affected. As of now, we are collecting only cash donations to aid the victims. Stay tuned on updates from us about providing food, shelter, medical help and recovery measures.  We have proven record of stepping up and responding to many natural disasters in USA and elsewhere in the world.
