The CASS Community Cooking Service Event is something that we all enjoy every time we go there. It was filled with fun ๐, tears ๐ฅฒ, and some singing too๐ค. It was really fun to work together. The residents were welcomed with a clean dining room and pantry and appreciated the boys who gave them a nice smelling, clean room with freshly cleaned tables and floors. Who knew making a difference could be so delicious? We were able to help feed a total of 130 people and they loved all the food we prepared for them. We always have a great time here and can't wait to go back again!

Tribute to Bharath
Detroit
August 14, 2021 at 12:00:00 AM
On August 15, 2021, India celebrated its 75th Independence Day. British traders had established outposts in the Indian subcontinent by the 17th century. Through overwhelming military strength, the East India Company fought and annexed local kingdoms and established themselves as the dominant force in India by the 18th century. Fighting bravely against unjust taxation and oppression, many great Indian leaders served as martyrs for freedom. To honor their legacy, the members of the VT Seva Youth Board researched their stories to create detailed informational posters. Oviya, a member of the Detroit youth board, proposed "Tribute to Bharath" project as a way to pay homage to those responsible for Indiaโs independence. Our history nurtures our personal identity in an intercultural world. As Marcus Garvey once said, โA people without the knowledge of their past history, origin, and culture is like a tree without rootsโ. This project allowed both our youth volunteers and all those who saw the informational posters to connect with their roots and learn more about Indiaโs rich history. Together, we were able to spread awareness about the freedom fighters who sacrificed everything for their country. 31 Youth Board Members Participated in this project are: Oviya Jaisankar, Harish Jaisankar, Rashmita Raghunathan, Rachana Raghunathan, Anand Brijesh, Sravya Saranu, Hiba Zyna, Sai Sri Ram Karnati, Veeksha Somula, Abhinav Suresh, Eesha Chigullapally, Kaustubh Dingari, Udhayaa Arul, Ishani Shetty, Pavan Nagaraj, Srihari Hebbar, Rohan Patil, Amogh Pisipati, Aditi Jethri Kompally, Hrudya Kishore, Nikita Talwar, Sanjay Sundarapandiyan, Nirvan Daram, Kalki Renga Anand, Adhvaith Suresh, Eashan Daram, Pranav Maringanti, Adhip Pisipati, Shruthi Adduri, Siddharth Tirumala Kanduri and Niharika prabhu

Now guidelines have changed to minimize the spread of COVID-19. It is now an individual activity. Each member provides a date and time they plan to do the activity. Then after they finish their trash picking they collect the following information. Time, date, location of the activity, how much distance they covered and names of the streets/how much trash was collected

VT Seva Atlanta Card Making Event
Atlanta
May 5, 2023 at 12:00:00 AM
We are delighted to announce that Atlanta VT Seva participated in the Card Making event at Sharon Folks Library on May 6 2023. The numerous volunteers showed their appreciation for front-line heroes such as police officers, firefighters, state representatives, and doctors by creating over 60 personalized thank-you cards for them. They also made cards for special needs kids as well. These front-line heroes play a critical role in helping our society whenever there is a crisis. They risk their own life to make sure we are safe. We are very proud of these volunteers for taking the time out of their day to make sure that these heroes are recognized for the amazing work that they do. Hopefully, this event inspires others to take action and support our front-line workers.
