Disable kids volunteering

North Jersey

February 7, 2020 at 12:00:00 AM

Kids had a great time at the camp sunshine and camp snowflake. The kids at these camps are developmentally disabled some of them physically too. Most of the kids had to cut the pizza into pieces and feed them too. They were talking to them and playing with them. Camp organizers really appreciated the support. They said the kids bonded immediately. Few of the kids were non verbal. The staff and our volunteers took them out for a walk for an hour. They had snacks brought by Sujatha. We also had a great time. the camp gave them voluntary hours for their work and Vtseva for their travel.

VT SEVA CLAYPOT PROJECT

Charlotte

April 22, 2023 at 12:00:00 AM

In collaboration with our seedlings event, our Charlotte chapter decided to also make handmade clay pots with unique designs to sell with our seedlings. We used terracotta pots and painted them with a variety of designs. Our chapter made these pots to promote environmental sustainability. By using these terracotta pots instead of plastic pots we can save a variety of wildlife and make these vegetables better for our health.

VTS Detroit Youth Board 2nd Senior Center Volunteering Event

Detroit

August 22, 2021 at 12:00:00 AM

Manoogian Manor residents love our Youth Board members, they've been invited 2nd time to attend their Bonfire. Volunteers spent their time there setting up seats on the patio, handing out lemonade to the residents, socializing with the residents, pushing the wheelchairs, and cleaning up the area. Our YB members and Manoogian Manor residents both connected even more today, all of the residents were happy to see us and enjoy sharing stories of their lifetime and inquired about daily life. One of the resident Dona, entertained us by singing a song, they were so thrilled and happy to share their experiences and hobbies. Our YB embers became experts in having conversation with seniors :) Both our YB members and Manoogian Manor residents are eagerly waiting for next Bonfire. Youth Volunteers: Aditi, Advaith, Eesha, Harish, Oviya and Veeksha Adult Volunteers: Vani Ji and Priya

Atlanta VT Seva Flower Making Activity

Atlanta

December 31, 2022 at 12:00:00 AM

We celebrated New Year’s day by making flowers and sharing flowers & happiness with all. It’s a great craft activity in which Atlanta VT Seva youths learned how to make paper flowers and beautiful creative cards with the flower on it to share it with our loved ones. We had experienced artists, Adesh Srivastava showed us how to make paper flowers, and Manu Satsangi demonstrated how to make a New Years card using the paper flowers. In the end, all the youth shared their New Years cards with each other. More than 30 children participated in this session and it was a great start to the year 2023. Whether it’s spring, autumn, summer, or winter, there are flowers in every season and for every person. Atlanta VT Seva youths made colorful flowers and shared flowers and blessings with others on this New Year’s Day!
