In commemoration of Bharat’s 77th Independence Day, VT SEVA Atlanta youth participated in a badge-making event. All of the students collaborated on creating 3 different Indian flag-themed badges. Although each flag took a lot of teamwork to create, all the students felt it was worth it in the end! The students expressed how this was a creative way to honor Bharath. Over 100 different flags were created in such a short amount of time! The team received much applause from those who purchased the badges during the Independence Day parade on August 15th, 2023.

VT Seva Tampa team volunteered at Metropolitan Ministries in preparing food for the needy and sorting cloth donations in the Thrift store. A total of 17 kids and 5 parents volunteered today and kids had a great experience in learning and serving the community.

VT SEVA Charlotte hosted its second annual summer camp for students in grades K-8, aiming to offer a diverse range of subjects such as mathematics, science, programming, music, robotics, art, public speaking, and language. Our primary objective was to create an enjoyable learning atmosphere that encompassed these various subjects. The camp's schedule was carefully structured to strike a balance between learning and recreational activities. As part of their daily routine, the children were regularly taken outdoors for recess, not only to break from learning but also to engage in physical activity and socialize. This camp not only provided a secure and stimulating learning environment during the summer vacation but also fostered a passion for learning and a sense of community among the participants. We had an amazing time conducting this event and hope to continue for further years!!

VT Seva Innovation Academy Youth Club is established on Aug 23rd, 2023. It’s a historic day as Chandrayan 3 landed on South Pole of the moon today and our VT Seva youths have also made history by establishing a youth club in the private Highschool. This is our 6th VT Seva youth club in Atlanta. It wasn’t easy for our youths to establish a club in a private Highschool but their persistence, never giving up attitude, and strong desire to serve others did soft landing cheering all Atlanta youths!

Vt Seva Volunteers participated in the Dublin Irish festival where they managed a station to give out tokens for the bouncy house

On August 6th, VTSeva volunteers went to the Buffalo Grove Farmers Market to fundraise for NethraVidyalaya and local food pantries. In gratitude for donor contributions, we offered thank you gifts such as water based plants, cold water bottles, handmade paper flowers, and Henna designs that one of our volunteers would draw. Overall, we raised $62 for the local food pantries and $130.26 for NethraVidyalaya. 5 adults & 9 youth volunteers assisted with this event.

VT Seva Atlanta participated in Dental Workshop on Aug 1st, 2023. It’s a fantastic workshop in which 40 Atlanta youths learned from Dr. Praveen Gudipati and his team of hygienists, and dental assistants provided an overview of the dental care process, patient diagnosis & treatment, HIPPA rules, and career opportunities in the dentistry field. Doctor and his team were highly impressed with the inquisitiveness of our youths and gave us the opportunity to collaborate and provide shadowing/internship opportunities to our youths in the future. Overall, it’s a great hands-on learning experience for the Atlanta VT Seva team. We’ll arrange more such hands-on experiences for our youths in the future!

Adopt a Street is a good opportunity for volunteers (All ages) to get engaged in community service activity, litter cleanup, pick up recycle items by the sides of the street and make an impact on the environment.

We had an excellent turnaround for our walkathon! Ryan Strunk, President of Blind Inc, and Nagendra Mahipati, our main sponsor of the event joined us. With kind support from our community of 80+ members, we raised $5000 to donate to Blind Inc and Nethra School.
