Inaugurated in 2014, International Yoga Day is a celebration of the benefits of Yoga for the Mind & Body. This year's theme was: Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. The World is One Family - One Earth, One Family, One Future June 21, 2023 - VT Seva Team Members participated in the International Yoga Day Event with the Consulate General of India and Discovery Green. A great experience for all! June 24, 2023 - The Office of Fort Bend County Precinct 3 Commissioner Andy Meyers and Telfair conducted an International Yoga Day Event. The VT Seva Team volunteered & participated in the event - a beautifully conducted program for the benefit of all!

Atlanta VT Seva has launched Youth-led Summer Camp for the Special Needs Kids of the Laurel Heights Hospital on June 19th,2023. Our Atlanta youths will wear Tutor hats for the first time for the Special Needs kids and take Elementary classes consisting of Math & ELA on alternate days from 10.40 am to 11.10 am. In addition, they will also take Fitness classes consisting of Taekwondo and Dance classes on alternate days from 9.15 am to 9.45 am. These Special Needs kids are in the hospital for treatment and summer camp classes will help them change their mood, encourage positive behavior, and learn something new at hospital. We’ll follow hospital privacy protocol all the time. It’s a great opportunity for our Atlanta youths to be the tutors for the jewels of Laurel Heights and support in their enrichment program!

As we packed meals at FMSC, on June 17, destined for Haiti, we are reminded of the incredible impact we can make when we come together. Each nutritious meal symbolizes hope, nourishment, and a brighter future for those in need. Join us in creating ripples of change and spreading love across borders. VT Seva Atlanta has organized a Yoga session today for our youths & adults in collaboration with Isha Foundation to embrace ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ principle which is this year Yoga theme on International Yoga Day on June 21st, 2023. Atlanta youths enthusiastically participated in the yoga session and were able to connect to the cause today - One Family! * ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ is the theme for this year's International Yoga Day, June 21, 2023, which beautifully captures our shared aspiration for “One Earth, One Family, and One Future.” From the United Nations headquarters in New York, Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modiji will lead the global celebration of yoga this year on June 21, 2023. Being a working day, Atlanta team decided to organize yoga session today so maximum people can take advantage of it. *It’s a wonderful yoga session today to take care of our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being!

VT Seva Kids and Youth celebrated Father's Day by making beautiful handmade cards for their dads and seniors in a memory care center. The event showcased their creativity and gratitude, bringing joy to both fathers and seniors.

VT SEVA Charlotte organized a stream cleanup on June 17 at Freedom Park to keep the park and surrounding stream free of unwanted trash. Through the efforts of 12 youth volunteers and 10 adult volunteers, they collected 10 bags of trash filled with items like metals, plastics, and glass. These materials could harm animals and the environment causing a disruption in the ecosystem. These cleanups really help the local community’s environment become safer and healthier for animals and humans.

VTS Detroit Youth board kicked off 3rd Annual walkathon at Shiawassee Park on June 16, 2023. Introduced new school board members. Explained about the cause of this walkathon. Couple parents brought in popcorn, ice cream and cookies to celebrate. Alongside we celebrated YB 4th anniversary with cake.

Atlanta youths had a Father’s Day activity & CEO Prep activity on June 17, 2023. Youths made surprise gifts for their fathers - cards and special artwork to show their love and affection for their dad. Children also created Father’s Day art work in their Art class of the summer camp. In addition, they also brainstormed youth presentation options for the CEO visit in Atlanta. They are working hard in putting together VT exhibits & skit presentation for the Big Day in July - July 19th.

On June 17, Krishna Chokkarapu and Bharath Rajappa, Secretary and Co-Secretary VT Seva Houston, volunteered at the monthly Houston Council of the Blind meeting. The team at Houston Council of the Blind always tries to make meetings interactive and social with different themes and ideas each month. This month, they celebrated Father’s Day! Mrs. Peggy Garrett presented a certificate to VT Seva Houston in recognition of voluntary services and contributions. The VT Seva Houston Board and volunteers were honored to receive this, and both organizations spoke to the wonderful relationship that we share. It is a cherished relationship indeed!
