VT SEVA CHARLOTTE MOTHER'S DAY

LOCATION:

Charlotte

May 12, 2023 at 12:00:00 AM

To celebrate Mother's Day, the dedicated volunteers of VT SEVA Charlotte came together to create beautiful handmade bouquets. In preparation for this event, VT SEVA Charlotte volunteers displayed incredible dedication and resourcefulness. Prior to the event, they collected leftover flowers from local stores that would have otherwise been discarded. By repurposing these flowers, they minimized waste and transformed them into beautiful bouquets. These thoughtfully crafted arrangements were sold with a purpose - to support cervical and breast cancer screenings. Every penny earned from the sales went directly towards funding these screenings, ensuring that women receive the necessary care and early detection they deserve.

VT Seva Atlanta April Cool - May Plant Sale

LOCATION:

Atlanta

May 12, 2023 at 12:00:00 AM

The Atlanta VT Seva April Cool Plant Project participants organized another successful plant sale during mothers day weekend. This time too it achieved tremendous success! VT Seva's young volunteers goal was to raise funds to support the education of visually impaired children in India. The final sales for our fundraising event took place on May 13th and 14th, from 10 AM to 2 PM, right in front of Patel Brothers, the Indian grocery store. Approximately 22 young VT Seva volunteers and 15 adults enthusiastically participated in the event. The youth effectively communicated the cause to customers and successfully sold a variety of vegetable saplings, herbs, fruits, flower plants, and seeds. The vegetable saplings were carefully nurtured by the young volunteers for 4-6 weeks and included a range of crops such as tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, gourds, green chilies, cucumbers, tomatillos, zucchini, chikkudu beans, long beans, ash gourd, chukka kura, dosakaya, and bathua, among others. Fruit plants like strawberries and banana were also available for purchase, along with a diverse selection of herbs like ajwain, mint, curry leaf, lemon grass, betel leaf, tulsi, and basil. The youth also offered flower plants including canna lilies, mini roses, ginger lillies, hybiscus, various lilies, and chrysanthemums. The event featured the sale of vegetable seeds as well. This year, we raised 8k from this plant sale event. Witnessing the active involvement and contributions of the community was truly exhilarating, as they rallied together to support the education of visually challenged and blind children in India. Furthermore, by supporting the growing community of gardeners, VT Seva was able to contribute to sustainability and Eco friendliness with this initiative.

VT Seva Atlanta Card Making Event

LOCATION:

Atlanta

May 5, 2023 at 12:00:00 AM

We are delighted to announce that Atlanta VT Seva participated in the Card Making event at Sharon Folks Library on May 6 2023. The numerous volunteers showed their appreciation for front-line heroes such as police officers, firefighters, state representatives, and doctors by creating over 60 personalized thank-you cards for them. They also made cards for special needs kids as well. These front-line heroes play a critical role in helping our society whenever there is a crisis. They risk their own life to make sure we are safe. We are very proud of these volunteers for taking the time out of their day to make sure that these heroes are recognized for the amazing work that they do. Hopefully, this event inspires others to take action and support our front-line workers.

RAFT

LOCATION:

Bay Area

May 5, 2023 at 12:00:00 AM

RAFT is an activity designed to help teachers in local schools by providing them with repurposed resources to aid them with teaching their children. Volunteering with them allows us to assist them in packaging these resources, giving them the ability to construct all these packages. With RAFT, we are helping children of the community learn from recycled materials that would otherwise go to waste. This month, a group of VT Seva volunteers gathered on May 20th in their San Jose location from 12:45 to 3:30 to package and sort items in order for them to be used as well as build educational packages for teachers.
