VT Seva Seattle UTSAV 2025 - Annual Fundraiser
Join us for Utsav 2025, our annual fundraiser celebrating empathy and resilience. Together, we support Jeeyar Gurukulam and Nethra Vidyalaya, schools that provide free education and boarding to visually challenged and underprivileged children in India. From a handful of tribal Thandas to nearly 25 villages today, this effort has created lasting generational change—thanks to your continued generosity.

Volunteering at the Houston Food Bank

On January 28, 2023, VT Seva Houston volunteers served at the Houston Food Bank. Volunteers participated in three activities - packing food such as canned goods, cereals, and bars; collecting cartons and plastics and disposing of them in separate recycling bins; and organizing and moving packed boxes to appropriate areas. Our youth volunteers participated in these activities and completed them successfully with the help of adults. Volunteers took part in this activity with great enthusiasm, and by working to gather, sort, pack, deliver food, these volunteers made a positive impact on their community. Such time spent in volunteering can have a significant impact on many! Thanks to our volunteers for their participation!!

VT Seva Dallas Adopt-A-Street at Irving and Lewisville

VT Seva Dallas conducted two Adopt-A-Street activities this Saturday at Lewisville and Irving, with great participation from youth and adult volunteers. We would like to first and foremost thank Ashwin and Parth for leading the Lewisville cleanup today. We would also like to thank Srija, our Iriving youth lead, for being able to motivate her peers at Coppell High School to join in and help keep the streets clean. These initiatives will be held on a monthly basis, so keep an eye out for updates posted on the webpage and on Instagram if you would like to participate in an upcoming one.

Durham Rescue Mission -Lunch Serving

Durham Rescue Mission is a home for hundreds of homeless men, women and children. Our 21 VT Seva Cary volunteers both youth and adult volunteers worked together spending 64 hours in helping serve lunch to homeless at the Durham Rescue Mission. Thank you to all our volunteers who has taken time to help serve meals to the hungry.

Plastic Grocery Bag Donations Project

Each bag was carefully inspected to make sure they are clean and dry with no holes to them and neatly folded prior to donated them to the Open Door Ministry, a local food bank. These bags will be used by Open door Ministry to distribute groceries. Open door Ministry uses about 100,000 grocery bags a year.

Rescue Animal Towel Donation Project

Project Lead: Youth Board Member Oviya Jaisankar 45 VT Seva Detroit Youth Board members from 10 different cities collected 140 towels and donated it to Last Day Dog Rescue an organization which takes care foster animals.

VT Seva Atlanta Adopted Old Atlanta Road

The world we live in is nothing short of a miracle. It is home to unparalleled beauty and wonders so marvelous they seem almost preposterous, for no man-made artifact can rival the bewitching allure of even the simplest forests. Each design, from the delicate etchings of leaves to the concentric circles of tree trunks to the twinkling glow of a rainbow, is remarkable, a paragon of beauty. It is now our responsibility to keep it beautiful and clean. The Atlanta VT Seva team has been cleaning Old Atlanta Rd since April 2022, and on Jan 25th, 2023, VT Seva Atlanta has been given the title on Old Atlanta Rd. We are very excited and we will keep the city clean for ourselves and for the future generations.

VT Seva Atlanta Meals By Grace Jan 22

With an intent to help those in need, 20 of our VT Seva volunteers, both teen and adult, participated in a program called “Meals by Grace” on January 22. Meals by Grace is a no-cost program designed to help children and families in need. The volunteers worked to sort, pack, and deliver food to families in Forsyth county. Those who were a part of the “Breads” team loaded bags with various types of bread, such as cinnamon rolls and sandwiches. The “Produce” team sorted and cut fresh fruits and vegetables and packed boxes full of them. Finally, the “Load” team put frozen meat in boxes and helped stack all of the boxes and bags into cars for delivery. Our volunteers were directly involved in helping more than 68 families in our own community, from packing to delivering. VT Seva is thankful that we were able to be a part of this gratifying experience and service those experiencing food insecurity. We will continue to aid those around us with a caring heart and open mind.

VT Seva Dallas Adopt a Street Volunteering Activity at Flowermound

VT Seva Dallas conducted its monthly Adopt a Street volunteering activity at Flowermound today, and we had a great turnout of youth and adult volunteers who worked hand-in-hand to keep the streets clean by picking up trash. Goda Kalyanam

Our amazing VTSEVA volunteers has grandly celebrated Goda Kalyanam and has raised $365 by setting up VTSEVA shop that had something for everybody. We sold books, perfume pouches, candle stands, small mirrors, bangles and lot more things. The volunteers not only setup the venue but also helped in serving food and cleanup after event

VT Seva Atlanta Sankranthi Booth Setup and Calendar Launch

Atlanta VT Seva youths have set up a VT Booth at the Sankranthi event on Jan 21, 2023 to spread the word out. We had great participation at the booth where we distributed 2023 VT Seva calendars, VT brochures, hand-made cloth bags made by Atlanta youths to all attendees. More than 40 participants joined our VT Seva group and showed keen interest in volunteering. VT Seva calendar is a great personal planner and a good gift to our friends and family members to engage their kids in VT Seva volunteer activities. It’s a unique creation of Atlanta youths and nowhere in any US VT Seva branch they have this unparalleled and creative calendar.

VTSeva Detroit Mercado Food Hub Volunteering event

VT Seva Detroit volunteering at Mercado Food Hub on Jan 21st, 2023 is to alleviate hunger among the families and is guided by belief in the dignity of all people, compassion and respect for all and with a collaborative spirit and a with a community focus. 12 VT Seva Detroit volunteers (Youth and Adults) volunteered at the Mercado Food Hub in Detroit Ford Resource and Engagement Center and packed and distributed 8,525 pounds of food to 101 families in a span of 5 hours. Volunteers cleaned the facility and also packed food for our senior citizens of the community to be delivered.

VT Seva Detroit MLK Day Jan 16th, 2023 is a time to look for ways to make Detroit community stronger by volunteering at amazing local organizations. Around 21 VT Seva Detroit volunteers (Youth & Adults) gathered today at the Destined for Greatness Center in Detroit Ford Welness Center. Today's volunteering was aimed at impacting over 200 families on MLK Day & volunteer at the Destined for Greatness MLK Day event giveaway to more than 200 Detroit families in need of Clothing, Senior incontinence, and hygiene kits for men & women to Detroit residents in need.

VT Seva Atlanta's Northview Youth Club Lights of Hope

Youths from VT Seva Northview High School took part in the Lights of Hope project, putting and removing Deepavali lights and Christmas lights for the Johns Creek Station community, raising $1100 for "Nethra Vidyalaya" students. VT Seva Northview youths, under the direction of the youth club President, Adithya Karthik Upadhyayula, are leading this kid-to-kid initiative.
