VT Seva Seattle UTSAV 2025 - Annual Fundraiser

Join us for Utsav 2025, our annual fundraiser celebrating empathy and resilience. Together, we support Jeeyar Gurukulam and Nethra Vidyalaya, schools that provide free education and boarding to visually challenged and underprivileged children in India. From a handful of tribal Thandas to nearly 25 villages today, this effort has created lasting generational change—thanks to your continued generosity.

Street Cleanup

LOCATION:

VTSEVA Youth volunteers cleaned local streets and parks of trash or litter, working to keep our cities clean! Before Covid, volunteers used to go together and adopt a street. Now guidelines have changed to minimize the spread of COVID-19. It is now an individual activity. Each member provides a date and time they plan to do the activity. Then after they finish their trash picking they collect the following information. Time, date, location of the activity, how much distance they covered and names of the streets/how much trash was collected

Food donations to Issaquah Food Bank

LOCATION:

Partnering with Sewa International and local HSS, VTSEVA youth collected and donated 512lbs of food to Issaquah Food bank to support local homeless shelters! Volunteers collected these donations by going door to door within communities and also collected food donations during our Acharya Thirunakshatram celebrations. Thank you again for all the volunteers who helped with this food drive!

RAAS-2022 – VT Seva Detroit 7th Annual Event

VT Seva Detroit successfully celebrated the 7th Annual Cultural Event RAAS-2022 on November 19th, 2022, culminating another great year of various fundraising activities and volunteering service to the community. VT Seva Detroit acknowledged the year-long hard work of our dedicated volunteers and generous donors with an evening of music, dance, skits, food, fun, and celebration. Some of the key highlights of the event: • VT Seva Detroit Director thanked the Donors and Volunteers for their impact in supporting Visually challenged & Underprivileged students’ education. • VT Seva Detroit Board members shared updates from various Youth board and Community Service Projects. • Over 450+ people attended. • Goose Bump Performances by 8 Dance teams • Melodious Singing & Rocking Live Band Performance Till to-date for this year, VT Seva Detroit Raised funds for over 234 students’ education

Atlanta VT Seva Adopted Brannon Rd.

VT Seva Atlanta adopted another street - Brannon Rd in Cumming, GA on November 13, 2022. More than 30 youths & adults are participated in the street cleanup activity. It was 32 degrees in Atlanta. Rain n shine, VT volunteers are always delivering quality service!

Atlanta VT Seva Halloween Candy Drive 2022

VT Seva Atlanta youths collected 200 lbs of candy for the US troops on the borders to spread the joy and holiday cheers with them. One kind hearted dentist of Atlanta provided special goody bags to all the Atlanta VT Seva youths for their contribution. Each goody bag has a tooth brush, paste, smart rinse, and other Halloween giveaways. He is so impressed by our youth activities that he has donated 1500 for Subha annual event. 🍭Trick or treat, bags of SWEETS 🍭 VT children walking down the streets!

VT Seva Detroit Youth Board Halloween Candy Drive

Project Lead: Harish Jaisankar VT Seva is participating in a Candy Drive nationwide. In Detroit, we collected 31 pounds of candies and donated to Operation Gratitude, a non-profit organization.

Atlanta VT Seva Mask Making for Special Needs Kids

VT Seva Atlanta youths had donated 500 cotton cloth masks to the Special Needs kids of the Laurel Heights Hospital on October 30, 2022. These masks are stitched by our VT Seva Atlanta youths. The Laurel Heights staff highly appreciates our youths year round contribution and loving-caring attitude for the jewels of hospital. We have donated 6,500 masks till now in year 2022. It really helped them in minimizing flu break and Covid prevention at the hospital.

Atlanta VT Seva Eco Friendly Initiative at GATA Diwali 2022

Atlanta VT Seva team promoted SUBHA Annual event at GATA Diwali celebration on October 30th, 2022. They are sold eco-friendly bags and masks made by Atlanta VT Seva Youths. There was a huge demand for our VT Seva eco-friendly bags, and everyone highly appreciated our initiative to reduce the plastic bag consumption.

Atlanta VT Seva Denmark High School Youth Club Meals By Grace Activity

Inspired by Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji’s words, VT SEVA Denmark Youth Club members participated in the ‘Meals by Grace’ food packing activity on October 30th, 2022 in Cumming, GA. They sorted bagels into bags, organized chip packets, and delivered food to the hungry families of north Georgia. This small service is dedicated to our Acharya for His Thirunakshathram!

Atlanta VT Seva PRADA:N Food Donation

Jet Atlanta & VT Seva team has donated 500 lbs for PRADA:N contribution to serve with joy in the celebration of the birthday of His Holiness Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji. It was a gratifying experience for the Atlanta Team.

Atlanta Self Defense For All

LOCATION:

VT Seva Atlanta youths and ladies participated in the Self Defense session on October 8th, 2022. More than 50 participants enjoyed learning various defensive and offensive self defense techniques. This session was much appreciated by all the participants. In fact, few participants said that this the best session ever that VT Seva has done for the Atlanta community. For the ATL youths - it’s an awesome session. According to them, no volunteer org has provided them a self defense session before which is so relevant in modern times, very useful in physical & mental well-being, and highly rewarding. This self defense session was our pilot study which succeeded beyond our imagination by not only energizing & synergizing VT Atlanta community but also helping us in raising $1000 for the education of blind / visually challenged kids in India. Overall it was a very fulfilling & rewarding experience for all.

Atlanta Go Green

LOCATION:

Atlanta VT Seva youths participated in the 2nd Go Green activity. In our previous September activity, they learned how to cut the plastic bags and make long strips like yarn. On Oct 15th activity, they made 60 cloth bags with Go Green, Think Grren & Be Green logos and symbols. It’s a great way to engage young minds in sustainable endeavors. In addition to making bags, they also made strips from plastic bags to convert it into the mats for the homeless people. Atlanta youths will sell amazing eco-friendly bags and donate money for the education of blind / visually challenged kids in India. They are getting ready for Subha, our annual event and created a promo video at the end of this activity. Their energy and synergy is outstanding and worth appreciating.

Microsoft Chess Competition

As part of October giving campaign, VTSEVA conducted chess competition in Microsoft. All proceeds from the chess competition were donated to VTSEVA. This is the first time we are conducting as part of giving campaign. There were 16 participants and final winners were decided based on a Swiss based tournament in 5 rounds. It was a great forum to explain what we do as an organization and introduce new members to the cause.

Atlanta Northview High School VT Seva Club

LOCATION:

VT Seva Northview Highschool Youth Club had its kickoff meeting on Sep 30th. This club was established on Sep 2nd, 2022. Adithya, the club president introduced the Northview club rules, meetings, various eco-friendly & educational projects, roles and responsibilities of office bearers, etc. He requested the present members to apply for the leadership positions. Their 1st official meeting is scheduled on October 7th, 2022. The club had its 2nd meeting on last Friday, Oct 7th. It was a very productive meeting which started with a recap of their 1st meeting (Sep 30th) with few new points added on the club functioning & upcoming projects. They have received great responses for the officer positions and nomination of the officers are work-in progress. Mr. Sylvester, their youth club teacher was highly impressed with the spirit of volunteerism and service attitude exhibited by the VT youths. Overall it was a very successful meeting.
