VT Seva Detroit’s 5th Annual Police Appreciation Day

VT Seva Detroit marked a meaningful milestone this year by hosting its 5th Annual Police Appreciation Day at the Novi Police Department.
What began five years ago as a small gesture of gratitude has now grown into a cherished annual tradition—one that Novi’s officers eagerly anticipate each year.
As in years past, our VT Seva Detroit team provided lunch, beverages, and desserts for the on-duty officers. The department’s leadership, including Police Chief Erick Zinser and several Sergeants, joined the gathering and shared their heartfelt appreciation for this now-annual moment of connection with the community.
Nearly *30 volunteers—both adults and youth—*came together to set up, serve, and personally thank the officers for their dedication and service. Our youth volunteers also created beautiful, handmade “Thank You” cards for the officers, expressing their heartfelt gratitude for the department’s selfless commitment to keeping Novi safe.
During the event, a few youth representatives introduced VT Seva’s community initiatives, highlighting the organization’s local and international service efforts to uplift underprivileged communities. Chief Zinser and his team commended our youth and appreciated the positive impact of VT Seva’s ongoing contributions.
Over the years, Police Appreciation Day has become a cornerstone in VT Seva Detroit’s annual calendar—reflecting our core belief that small, consistent acts of gratitude can strengthen the bonds of community. We are truly honored to stand with the Novi Police Department and to recognize the dedicated individuals who protect and serve our city every day.
Our sincere thanks to Chief Erick Zinser, the Novi Police Department’s Sergeants and officers, and to all **VT Seva Detroit volunteers—especially our youth—*whose enthusiasm and compassion made this year’s celebration extra special.
