VT Seva Denmark High School Youth Club

Updated: Nov 21, 2023

October 30th

VTS Denmark Youth Club participated in the Meals by Grace service, helping to pack food for 66 families in need. We got to work with other students outside of Denmark VT Seva as well. This was a great opportunity to connect with students that are just as passionate about giving and volunteering.

October

Our club has been actively meeting to discuss goals for 2024 and how to engage our Denmark youth in exciting events to come! During the October VTSEVA Denmark meeting on 10/25, we covered information about the Presidential Volunteer Service Award like how many hours are required and when it will be awarded. We also showed the attendees a brief video how to log their hours. Additionally we introduced our club volunteer opportunity, Meals for Grace, and the registration opened. Overall it was a very productive and engaging meeting!

VT Seva Atlanta Denmark Youth Club Card Making Event

VTS Denmark started Card Making project for the Henry County graduating Highschool Seniors. They will be making congratulatory cards for the graduating seniors in Henry County's Kids in Transition program, which supports these homeless/fostered students transition to becoming more independent as they move beyond high school. Last year, they made 60 special cards. This year, they made 50 cards for making seniors’ day a little bit more special for them. Kudos to all the Denmark youths for making motivating and inspirational cards for the homeless / fostered seniors of Henry county.

Atlanta youths have established ‘Denmark VT Seva Youth club’ at Denmark Highschool on Jan 14, 2022. This is the 2nd VT Seva Youth Club in Atlanta after Lambert Youth Club. This club was started on January 14th by Abhiram Chilakamarri (President), Pranav Mocherla (VP of Communication), and Dharanija Peram (VP of Membership) at Denmark High School in Atlanta.

On February 15th, VT SEVA Denmark Youth Club conducted their first meeting. They had over 10 interested participants who attended the meeting. During the meeting, they went over the basis of VT SEVA: its mission, purpose, and foundation. They also shared how to become a volunteer for VT SEVA and how to log hours. It was a big success for Denmark Youth club in Atlanta.

Inspired by Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji’s words, VT SEVA Denmark Youth Club members participated in the ‘Meals by Grace’ food packing activity on October 30th, 2022 in Cumming, GA. They sorted bagels into bags, organized chip packets, and delivered food to the hungry families of north Georgia. This small service is dedicated to our Acharya for His Thirunakshathram!

VT Seva Denmark Youth Club made special ‘Thank You’ cards for the Thomas Eye group staff members from November 20 - 28, 2022. They delivered these cards on November 28th. All Doctors and staff members were incredibly happy and grateful to see loving-caring cards by our VT youths. Our youths have created an everlasting impression on them and they took VT Seva website address to see how they can support this volunteer organization in future.

VT Seva Denmark Youth Club launches ‘Animal Shelter Drive’ in Feb 2023 to provide comfort to hundreds of animals of Forsyth county who are rescued this winter. While animals wait for the adoption, Denmark Atlanta youths are collecting essential supplies, helping local authorities in animal care, and thereby making a difference in the lives of homeless animals!

Denmark Youth Club Animal Shelter Drive:

VTS Denmark Youth Club started off 2023 with a service project dedicated to those beings who are in constant need of attention and care. We organized a drive to collect supplies for the Forsyth County Animal Shelter. Items collected included hand sanitizer, pet wipes, Clorox, dog and cat food, and dog and cat toys. We collected over 30 items and gave them to the animal shelter on April 12th.
