The Challenge
A Preventable Crisis
Every 8 minutes, a woman in India dies from cervical cancer. Breast cancer is now the most common cancer among Indian women. Both are highly preventable with early screening.
In rural areas, most women have never heard of cervical or breast cancer, let alone received a screening. Cultural stigma, lack of awareness, and absence of healthcare infrastructure keep millions of women from accessing basic preventive care.
Mahila Arogya Vikas (MAV)- meaning “Women's Health Development” - brings free cervical and breast cancer screenings directly to villages, breaking down every barrier that keeps women from getting the care they deserve.
