CHOA meal drive

In the month of September 2023, Lambert VT Seva held the CHOA meal drive. In this drive initiated by Srimayi Kukkadapu, Lambert students donated a variety of items such as mac and cheese, fruit bowls, breakfast bars, and crackers so that the children at the hospital and their families could have nutritious meals during their hospital stay. On October 1st, Srimayi organized an event to pack the meal bags. Together, the group of students packed 108 meal bags for the hospital! On October 6th, these bags were dropped off at the CHOA Scottish Rite hospital. The hospital workers were incredibly grateful for the contribution and thanked us tremendously! We are sure our donations have made many children's days!

On Mar 25th 2023, Lambert VT Seva participated in the Great Forsyth County Cleanup. We spent 4 hours cleaning up Bagley Road and was truly an eye-opening experience. It revealed how much we needed to take action to clean up our planet and how much effort that took. During the cleanup, we were able to work together, creating new bonds along the way. The Forsyth County officials were very supportive, and provided us with supplies and a free T-shirt! Overall, the Great FoCo Cleanup was an amazing way to have fun and help clean up the environment!!

The Lambert VT Seva club had its first meeting on August 23rd, 2022. During the meeting, the Lambert VT Seva President, Srimayi Kukkadapu presented the club information and the upcoming projects in September. There was an overwhelmingly positive response with many members interested in attending Meals By Grace and Senior Living at the Benton House. At the end of the meeting, the members enjoyed donuts that were provided. Lambert VT Seva Club is on a great start!

Lake Lanier Event

----------------------------

Lambert VT Seva youths participated in the Lake Lanier Clean-up Drive on Sep 24th, 2022. The youths collected loads of trash & debris, ensuring that the lake is clean and beautiful for everyone. Their cleanup efforts are making a difference in the environment, neighborhood, and in our lives. This project is initiated by Srimayi Kukkadapu in which club members bonded with the nature and realized how much efforts are needed to clean up our planet. The club members worked as a team, ensuring that the beach was kept clean and beautiful for everyone. As a whole, the Lake Lanier Shore Clean-up was an eye-opening experience, strengthening our connection with our planet and with each other!

Throughout September 2022, Lambert VT Seva members visited Benton House Senior Living to cheer them up & build companionship bonds with the elders. There was immense participation, and everyone who participated had great feedback! We did many things, from interacting with them, performing to them, helping out with bingo games, and helping them set up for their daily activities! They were all such kind souls, and we truly enjoyed talking to them and hearing their stories! All the senior citizens appreciated the thought & act of VT Seva youths to provide them companionship when they need the most. It was truly a great experience for us all!

Lambert VT Seva Youths have dedicated their Jan & Feb months for the service of Seniors of Benton House Senior Living Center to cheer them up & build companionship bonds with them. They will help in setting up their daily activities, play bingo games, do puzzles, sing songs, and listen to their stories and experiences. Great start of 2023 by Lambert Atlanta youths

So far in January and February, Lambert VT Seva members visited Benton House Senior Living to cheer them up & build companionship bonds with the elders. So far, there has been a lot of participation, and everyone who participated had great feedback! Some of our experiences are quoted below:

"I conducted all bingo games that day. It was enjoyable as all the people were very nice."

"I went to the memory care section and monitored the patients/talked to some. I also helped set up a patient’s birthday party. Most of the volunteering was interesting and the party was fun."

"We helped clean up the dining area after everyone was done with their lunch. It was fun talking to the elderly and they were really nice."

We hope to continue volunteering at Benton House and plan on making many more memories!!

From April 5-6, 2023, Lambert VT Seva students volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul thrift store. This thrift store allows the needy to have access to clothes and other products FOR FREE. Many products are kindly donated, and the products in good condition are put out for sale. We are glad to have helped out there; the store was very neat and orderly. It also had a wide variety of good quality products.

When volunteering there, we volunteered in small groups for 2 hours each. Everyone was given various tasks to help keep the store in order. Some of the things we did were vacuuming the floor, rearranging products, tagging clothes, steaming the clothes, taking out the trash, helping at the front desk, etc. It was a very unique and fun experience!
