Atlanta
April 29, 2022 at 12:00:00 AM
On May 1st, 2022, Atlanta VT Seva youths made and collected 50+ cards to give to graduating seniors in Henry County. The seniors who received these cards are either fostered or are homeless, and they face many challenges just to make it through high school. The cards we made were filled with encouraging messages to motivate them and celebrate their accomplishments. Each card was crafted with care and creativity, determined to bring joy to its recipient’s face. We are grateful to all the wonderful youth who participated in this project. VT SEVA Atlanta Youth rocks!

Helping to Racers @ FS Series Marathon Event
Cary
March 19, 2022 at 12:00:00 AM
On March 20th,2022 Vt Seva Cary Kids volunteered at the FS Series Marathon. During the FS Series Half/Full Marathon, there were around a total of 120 participants who had competed. As the duration of the race had started around 6:45 AM and lasted till 10:30 AM, it was important for the racers to be hydrated throughout the race. As VT SEVA volunteers, we made it our job to make sure that these racers were hydrated during this race. We stood at Station 4 which is usually the spot where runners start to find themselves dehydrated which is why we took the role of providing water, gatorade and even small nutritional snacks. We stationed ourselves on both sides of the track and made our own gatorade to provide for the racers. VT Seva made their mark by bringing joyful attitudes to this race and made sure to assist in every way possible. Volunteers constantly put work in to gather water, make gatorade, or simply pick trash up on the track so it’s safe for racers. FS series team was very happy & impressed with VT-Seva volunteers dedication.

VT Seva Detroit's Appreciation lunch event for Novi Police Department
Branch
Detroit
May 11, 2024 at 12:00:00 AM
Every year, VT Seva Detroit volunteers make it a point to stop by the Novi Police Department during the National Police Appreciation week (this year being May 12, 2024 – Sat, May 18, 2024) to appreciate them for their selfless service and sacrifice towards our communities. VT Seva Detroit has always recognized the difficult job of being a Police Officer facing many odds & challenges, including the safety of their own lives. It was so nice of the Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police Erick W Zinser, Officers: Jenkinsen, Toth, Ambrose, Barrette, Woloski & Stevensen to meet our youth and adult volunteers and appreciate our community service efforts. We also thank Priya Gurumurthy - Novi City Councilwoman who stopped by for a while and joined in our police appreciation. Kudos to all the youth who came forward to make beautiful thank you cards for our police officers for this , officers really loved it & thanked everyone . This is done as part of showing our appreciation and gratitude to our law enforcements and hence no service hours are granted to any youth who participated.

VT Seva Detroit: Yard Beautification Help & Facilities Tour at Penrickton Center for Blind Children.
Detroit
June 5, 2021 at 12:00:00 AM
What an exciting way to start off our first in-person volunteering outdoors today (06/06/21) by our VT Seva Detroit Volunteers helping in Yard Beautification at Penrickton Center for Blind Children in Taylor, MI. All our volunteers followed the COVID-19 Safety protocols during the entire stay there. Penrickton center has a very beautiful front yard and our volunteers were helping by pulling weeds, raking, edging the grass around driveway areas and finally cleaning the front yard. The center had all the necessary tools and gears to work with volunteers. While all of us were working at the yard, we were also greeted by the 3-mile-long Bikers who were 'Riding for a Reason' in support of the Penrickton Center. There were over 500 Bikers riding through the street outside the Center escorted by the Cops on Motorbikes as well. We were thrilled to wave at them and appreciate their support for the full 10 minutes of their Bike Caravan. We were also given an opportunity to tour their facility by the center coordinator Chelsea. Volunteers were split into 2 groups and were taken inside following all the Covid-19 safety protocols. It was a great opportunity for all of us to see their facility, to know more about the Penrickton Center. It was enriching to learn how they provide great care and support to the visually challenged, multi-disabled children and their families. Chelsea took us through a day in the life of the children at their center. She was kind enough to show us the Kitchen, Bed Rooms, Activity & Therapy Rooms, Educational and Batch rooms that were all adorned with lovely painting on the wall mostly painted by volunteers. Their Childcare Workers & Staff go above & beyond to help teach important Life Skills to the challenged children to make them independent. We were shown a video about the Penrickton Center Children and were so touched seeing those children faces and hearing their stories. Due to COVID restrictions, we were unable to meet the children this time but they promised us future tours whenever the situations come back to normalcy. Our volunteers could very much relate to the whole experience at the Center since it is very close to what the children go through at VT Seva Nethra Vidyalaya institutions. These are our 13 VT Seva Detroit volunteers who attended today. Youth: Abhinav Suresh; Anand Brijesh; Anirudh Venbakkam; Nikhil Aerabati; Siddharth Tirumala Kanduri; Srihari Hebbar Adults: Asha K Puranam; Gopal Brijesh; Raghunath Aerabati; SrinathBabu Karnati; Sudheer Koppu; Suresh Rajan; Vanitha Gopalan Kudos to all their wonderful help & time. The Scorching sun didn't make them to stop their excitement and all their volunteering spirit. AS ALWAYS, YOUR SUPPORT IS OUR STRENGTH TO SERVE

VT Seva Atlanta Meals By Grace
Atlanta
July 2, 2023 at 12:00:00 AM
Atlanta VT Seva youths & adults participated in Meals By Grace (MBG) activity today. They sorted, packed, and delivered fruits, breads, veggies, deserts, juices etc to the needy families of North Georgia. During summer vacation, these families have no or very less food to feed their children. Their children anxiously wait for their school to open so they can get good breakfast, lunch, and snack at school. Our youths volunteer at MBG very often, it’s a gift of gratitude by Atlanta youths!

VT SEVA CHARLOTTE MOTHER'S DAY
Charlotte
May 12, 2023 at 12:00:00 AM
To celebrate Mother's Day, the dedicated volunteers of VT SEVA Charlotte came together to create beautiful handmade bouquets. In preparation for this event, VT SEVA Charlotte volunteers displayed incredible dedication and resourcefulness. Prior to the event, they collected leftover flowers from local stores that would have otherwise been discarded. By repurposing these flowers, they minimized waste and transformed them into beautiful bouquets. These thoughtfully crafted arrangements were sold with a purpose - to support cervical and breast cancer screenings. Every penny earned from the sales went directly towards funding these screenings, ensuring that women receive the necessary care and early detection they deserve.
