RAFT
Bay Area
May 5, 2023 at 12:00:00 AM
RAFT is an activity designed to help teachers in local schools by providing them with repurposed resources to aid them with teaching their children. Volunteering with them allows us to assist them in packaging these resources, giving them the ability to construct all these packages. With RAFT, we are helping children of the community learn from recycled materials that would otherwise go to waste. This month, a group of VT Seva volunteers gathered on May 20th in their San Jose location from 12:45 to 3:30 to package and sort items in order for them to be used as well as build educational packages for teachers.

Brown Bag Packing
Bay Area
March 26, 2022 at 12:00:00 AM
In the brown bag packing activity, a small group of people come together to make and pack bags filling them with different items such as chips, drinks, fuit, etc. Within these groups, the value of teamwork is built, and it's true importance is shown. After these bags are packed, they go to a homeless shelter to help those in need. This activity really helps in helping our community, as there are many people who cannot afford nutritious food. Packing brown bags for shelters help those that are not as fortunate as us, and makes their futures a little brighter.

Seattle Youth Board Elections
Seattle
September 25, 2022 at 12:00:00 AM
Please welcome Seattle's new youth board for 2022-2023 school year. Every year, we follow a democratic process for the board elections with candidates providing their vision for the board and fielding questions from all of the youth club members and parents. This year was no exception. We had all the propsective board members provide a video response to the prompt: How will they improve diversity and inclusion within the youth club? We played all of the video responses at the election event and had each candidate take questions from the audience. In the end, we are happy to announce the following youth board for the Seattle branch which takes effective immediately. Yashita Tanwar - President Nikhil Chivukula and Ananya Suthram - Co-Vice Presidents Vibha Velturi - Secretary Yashwant Piratla - Head of Relations
