Street Cleaning

Bay Area

September 26, 2022 at 12:00:00 AM

VTSEVA Youth volunteers cleaned local streets and parks of trash or litter, working to keep our cities clean! Before Covid, volunteers used to go together and adopt a street. Now guidelines have changed to minimize the spread of COVID-19. It is now an individual activity. Each member provides a date and time they plan to do the activity. Then after they finish their trash picking they collect the following information. Time, date, location of the activity, how much distance they covered and names of the streets/how much trash was collected

VT Seva Detroit THIRD BATCH of Mailing Supplies Project to help Penrickton Center for Blind Children (REMOTE)

Detroit

July 16, 2021 at 12:00:00 AM

Penrickton Center is a private non-profit organization that provides care and support to blind, multi-disabled children and their families.Penrickton Center for Blind Children provides services to families at no charge, and relies entirely on donations from the community. Throughout the year Penrickton Center sends out requests for donations, and invitations to raise funds. VT Seva Detroit volunteers got this opportunity to help them assemble their Mailing Supplies items in envelopes as per their directions for their fund raising purposes. After completion of our FIRST Batch Mailing Supplies Project, we reached out to the Penrickton Center if they can give us more supplies for our volunteers who are eager to do . Penrickton Center were kind enough to provide us with more Mailing Supplies for VT Seva Detroit. There were 18 youth volunteers who participated in this remote volunteering project. The mailing supplies were picked up from the Penrickton Center, sorted and organized as 15 kits with 200 plus of each items. The kits were later distributed to volunteers to do at their homes and then to be dropped off before July 2nd, 2021. On the whole we delivered around 4000 envelopes in this Second batch of our Mailing Supplies Project to Penrickton Center for Blind Children. We received lots of appreciations from the Penrickton Center coordinators for this great help by our volunteers since it saves a lot of their time in doing this task before proceeding to their next step of sending these mails to all their donors. Bird House Making & Feeding Project

Branch

Atlanta

February 24, 2024 at 12:00:00 AM

VT Seva Atlanta youths participated in the Bird House Making & Feeding project with fervor and zeal. Can You imagine a world without birds? Birds paly an essential role in our eco-system as they are the predators, pollinators, scavengers, and seed dispersers. If birds are healthy, our eco- system is also healthy as they are the eco-system engineers. More than 60 Atlanta youths of all age groups enjoyed making creative bird houses to provide home and food to the birds in this harsh winter. Itโ€™s good to know that our youths care about birds and building healthy habitat in Atlanta. Each youth will put bird seeds and water in their bird house year-round which will be instrumental in birdsโ€™ nurturing and growth and also contribute significantly in making our planet earth healthy. We raised $500 which was donated for the food for the blind/visually challenged students of Nethra Vidyalaya, India. Itโ€™s a gratifying experience for the Atlanta VT Seva Team and this is just a beginning... our giving wings of inspiration will never stop pushing us to the new heights!
