On May 1st, 2022, Atlanta VT Seva youths made and collected 50+ cards to give to graduating seniors in Henry County. The seniors who received these cards are either fostered or are homeless, and they face many challenges just to make it through high school. The cards we made were filled with encouraging messages to motivate them and celebrate their accomplishments. Each card was crafted with care and creativity, determined to bring joy to its recipient’s face. We are grateful to all the wonderful youth who participated in this project. VT SEVA Atlanta Youth rocks!

VT Seva Detroit's 1st ever Table Tennis & Badminton Tournament would not have been a GRAND success without our ENTHUSIASTIC & EVER-ENERGETIC volunteers. Right from planning, promotional activities, setup & tear down, meticulous Game Draws with first time usage of Software based scheduling, Food preparation, transportation, distribution, front desk check-in and adhoc help & support during the event...SIMPLY AMAZING ALL ROUND PERFORMANCE!! We thank our SMEs, participants and audience for the overwhelming turnout and patiently bearing with us throughout the day! With all their support we were able to raise the funds for 2260 students education for one whole day It is equivalent to Quality Education for 6 students for whole Year providing Laptop for each child.

𝐕𝐓 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 celebrated Mother's Day with the mothers in 3 senior centers in Livonia, MI. 45 volunteers came together and created 245 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 to wish them a happy Mother's Day & Fathers day Cards have been distributed to 3 senior centers 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐫, 𝐎𝐚𝐤𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧 and they were so happy to receive the cards! This project was initiated by the Youth Board Member 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒉.

VT Seattle had a wonderful weekend of events for the Earth Day celebrations: one in East Sammamish park and one in McCollum park. More than 20+ volunteers helped restore native habitat in these two parks.

April Cool Plant and Pot Sale on 23rd, 24th 2022 The best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago. The second-best time to plant is today! Atlanta VT Seva youth believed in the second option and did exemplary work by planting more than 1000 plants under APRIL COOL 2022 initiative. More than 50 Atlanta youths and adults were involved in APRIL COOL 2022 project in which they sew more than 1000 plus seeds of various vegetables, fruits, and herbs in the month of March. They planted a variety of veggies, fruits, and herbs. Their plant list shows their commitment to service and their enthusiasm to support Mother Nature. They sew various seeds such as Cherry Tomato, Plumb Tomato, Regular Tomato, Eggplant Back Beauty, Kale, Malabar Spinach, Sweet Basil, Green Bell Peppers, Lettuce, Chikkudu Green, Chikkudu Purple, Bottle gourd, Long Beans, Ridge Gourd, Bitter Gourd, Dosakaya, Wax Gourd, Luffa Sponge Gourd, Curry leaf, Lemongrass, Pothos, Snake Plant, Ajwain, Chrysanthemum Yellow, Spider Plants, Brahmakamalam, India Kanakambaram, Rose, Strawberry, Daisy, Cucumber, Sastra Daisy, Chemanthi. Yellow one, Sudan Pink, Mint, Marigold, Strawberry, Batua, Tindora, and many more types of plants. Atlanta youths’ energy, synergy, and enthusiasm was outstanding in sowing the seeds, watering it every day, taking plants out for sunlight, and nurturing it well with care and love. They exhibited the empathy in several ways and donated $4000 proceeds for the education of the blind / visually challenged children of Nethra Vidyalaya. In the words of George Washington, ‘True friendship is a plant of slow growth, and must undergo and withstand the shocks of adversity, before it is entitled to the appellation”. Atlanta youths are committed to build true relationship with Mother Nature by planting more and nurturing it well through adverse conditions with love, care, and empathy.

During the month of April, VT - Seva Bay Area hosted its first ever beach cleanup! Youth volunteers attended the activity at Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz California. They started by scavenging the beach for typical trash such as cigarette butts, food wrappers, plastic bottles, bottle caps, and other plastic items. Volunteers cleaned up the beach to improve the coastal and ocean ecosystem to ensure that none of the trash kills marine life or is toxic enough to disrupt the aquatic life cycle! After the cleanup, volunteers enjoyed a quick picnic by the beach to get to know each other and celebrate the day's accomplishment!

In the brown bag packing activity, a small group of people come together to make and pack bags filling them with different items such as chips, drinks, fuit, etc. Within these groups, the value of teamwork is built, and it's true importance is shown. After these bags are packed, they go to a homeless shelter to help those in need. This activity really helps in helping our community, as there are many people who cannot afford nutritious food. Packing brown bags for shelters help those that are not as fortunate as us, and makes their futures a little brighter.

On the occassion Earth Day ,VT Seva Cary Conducted Adopt-A -Highway Street cleaning. We had enough equipment for resisting bacteria, gloves, vest, and a trash picker. We were a group of 16 people, we split in 4 groups each and supervised with an adult. After, we monitored and picked up the trash like bottles, cans, papers, plastic bags…with a trash picker stick. All the volunteers felt like it was clearing up the home.

𝗩𝗧 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 had a great opportunity to clean the Rouge park. This is their second volunteering event. The park was heavily polluted and with lot more volunteers from public and VT Seva also it was not possible to clean up the full park. They picked up a variety of item from bottles to clothes. They all worked hard to clean up the park to make it a pleasant place to visit and for the animals.

VT Seva Charlotte celebrates our annual seedlings events for the 3rd year in a row!! The youth volunteers nurtured around 500 plants from the seed to the sapling. With tender care they were able to successfully raise over 400 of the saplings to good health. The seedlings ranged from a variety of flowers to vegetables like peppers, cucumber, squash and a variety of gourds. A group of 30 dedicated volunteers plus a few additional adult volunteers collectively met over the span of 2 months to come together and care for these plants. The volunteers set up a booth and sold the seedling to local community members, all the proceeds went towards Netra Vidyala the school of the blind.

Every year on Earth Day, City of Farmington Hills, Michigan - Municipal Government is committed to cleaning up litter from their streets and making the streets beautiful and safe for all their residents, including animals. This is the 9th year of cleanup where; VT Seva volunteers got this great opportunity to be part of their litter walk. Volunteers walked from 9-mile Haggerty Rd till Gill Rd for over two miles and cleared all litter along the roadside on Earth Day. We all collected trash from wooded areas, side of the roads, fields, lawn, and ditches. It was concerning to see so much trash everywhere. It was hard work and we were tired but it was a very relieving experience to pick the trash up from the roads and wooded areas and put it where it belongs. VT Seva Dallas ushered in its 15th Annual Earth day celebrations with Street cleaning activity at Frisco on 23rd April with ~70 volunteers, primarily comprised of children and youth.It was great to resume in person volunteering activity after almost 2 years. It was nice to see the Youth join their hands together in cleaning up the streets of Frisco.

RAFT’s mission is to help educators transform a child’s learning experience through hands-on education to one that inspires the joy and discovery of learning. It's vision is to inspire the next generation of innovators, by providing educators with stem based resources. Volunteers will help sort and package materials for use by teachers for hands on teaching purposes. By volunteering with RAFT, organization skills, communication skills, and social skills are gained.
