10 youth volunteers and 5 adult volunteers helped CASS Community Service with decluttering items, flattening cardboard boxes for recycling, folding and stacking up blankets, transferring the wooden furntitures to 7th floor, mattresses to its floor, and glass items, books, household items to a different floor. They also stacked up all the food boxes in their pantry.

VT Seva Denmark Youth Club

Atlanta youths have established ‘Denmark VT Seva Youth club’ at Denmark Highschool on Jan 14, 2022. This is the 2nd VT Seva Youth Club in Atlanta after Lambert Youth Club. This club was started on January 14th by Abhiram Chilakamarri (President), Pranav Mocherla (VP of Communication), and Dharanija Peram (VP of Membership) at Denmark High School in Atlanta. On February 15th, VT SEVA Denmark Youth Club conducted their first meeting. They had over 10 interested participants who attended the meeting. During the meeting, they went over the basis of VT SEVA: its mission, purpose, and foundation. They also shared how to become a volunteer for VT SEVA and how to log hours. It was a big success for Denmark Youth club in Atlanta.

Valentine's Cards to Seniors @Pheonix Senior Assisted Care Center

For the month of February, VT Seva Cary participated in a Valentine's Day card-making event. A total of 20 volunteers participated and gave cards that they made to be donated to retired veteran seniors in a senior home. A total of 70 cards were given to seniors @ Phoenix Assisted Care Center. Thanks to them VT Seva Cary was successfully able to distribute the cards. The elderly who received the cards, as well as the people who made them, were very happy. VT Seva Cary wishes them a Happy Valentines Day!

For the month of February, VT Seva Cary participated in a Valentine's Day card-making event. A total of 25 volunteers participated and gave cards that they made to be donated to retired veteran seniors in a senior home. A total of 100 cards were able to be donated through the Meals on Wheels Durham. Meals on Wheels Durham is an organization that is committed to serving the elderly. They do not only distribute meals but many other things to make their lives better. Thanks to them VT Seva Cary was successfully able to distribute the cards. The elderly who received the cards, as well as the people who made them, were very happy. VT Seva Cary wishes them a Happy Valentines Day!

VT Seva Detroit: Destined for Greatness 2nd In person Volunteering

Destined for Greatness help young women and girls by mentoring and providing critical conflict resolution training when the women & girls are in bad situations. Destined for Greatness has successfully mentored over 5000 girls. They not only help the families of girls but help everyone in Metro Detroit 0-99 years of age. They give overseas to help those in poor countries and giving back. Volunteers organized and sorted clothes; essential hygiene items; toys; books; decor items & finally all volunteers cleared the trash items & cardboard boxes separately. Shadora Ford who is the founder of Destined for Greatness Community was in awe seeing our great help at the end of the day and greatly appreciative of all our volunteers efforts who helped them out in big way. It was a very fulfilling day of volunteering for all our VT Seva Detroit volunteers and felt happy that we were able to provide the support and help needed on right time for Destined for Greatness!

VT Seva Lambert Youth Club February Meeting

VT Seva Lambert Youth club meeting was organized by Srimayi Kukkadapu, Club President on Feb 11th, 2022 at Lambert school. They discussed various projects - Food 4 the Hungry, Bird House, Accessible Digital Library, and Thrift Store volunteering. This is their 2nd meeting in 2022 to brainstorm, implement, and monitor the progress of their projects.

VT Seva Detroit: Destined for Greatness In person Volunteering

On February 5th, 2022, VT Seva Detroit Volunteers had an enriching day at the Ford Wellness Center helping Destined for Greatness Mentoring & Community Resource Center. It was definitely a challenge today however more fulfilling at the end of the day as we were super happy that we helped them so much with their needs. It was quite a fulfilling & educative experience for all to knowing that DFG Mentoring does to serve the Metro-Detroit community positively to alleviate their personal difficulties. VT Seva Detroit 2022: Oakland Hope Food Pantry In Person Volunteering

Oakland HOPE Food pantry distributes more than 750,000+ pounds of food and more than 50,000 people are fed. This includes families, seniors and veterans who have lost their paycheck and income now receive free groceries with support from the community. There were few people who walked many miles to the pantry to get some food for their hungry children. We served 60 plus families with their needs during our visit. These are some of the tasks some of our volunteers were doing 1. Worked in the food pantry by being a shopper for their clients who came in to get some food items. 2. Loading carts with the food items needed per family. 3. Sorting the other miscellaneous items in bins & racks. 4. Finally cleanup tasks such as dusting, wiping the carts, surfaces with wipes & floor-sweeping activities. VT Seva Detroit Youth and Adult Volunteers displayed a great team spirit and compassion throughout and worked tirelessly for 4 hours of our stay after their initial training and orientation. The Food Pantry coordinator and the Oakland Hope volunteer director were in full of praise and applauded all of us for our team spirit and volunteerism displayed.

Rescue Animal Towel Donation Project

Foster animals have gone through many things in their lives that are unimaginable. Animal shelters take in these animals and bathe them, feed them, and take care of them. The VT Seva Detroit Youth Board did their part to help these animals by collecting the used towels for Last Day Dog Rescue. 29 Youth Board members collected 90 towels.

Project Lead: Risha.VT Seva Detroit Youth Board did their part to help these people by collecting grocery bags. The plastic grocery bags that we get from stores are a great help to these food banks. Its a better way to reuse the bags to pack the food for distribution. 44 youths collected 2750+ bags

VTSeva Detroit Arts and Scraps Group 1 Defuzzing socks loops Project

Arts & Scraps Detroit is a nonprofit that teaches STEM using recycled materials and art integration to children across the city of Detroit. To do that they rely heavily on volunteers like ourself. Stickies, sock loops, ticket stubs, fabric, buttons, you name it they use many different materials and textures to inspire our students during their STEM Programming. This includes: cutting, sorting, and separating. VT Seva Detroit got the DE fuzzing sock loops activity this time these will be placed in all the stem kits. All items being prepared are going into their creative kits that are continuously being supplied to children across Detroit. Sock loops are loops of fabric provided to them by soccer manufacturer/textile. These loops are a mainstay in every project and kit they make.

Emergence and spread of omicron variant - Allopathy, Homeopathy, and Ayurvedic perspectives

With the growing number of COVID cases from the Omicron variant and people traveling to India for the Inaugural ceremony of the ‘Statue of Equality’, Atlanta VT Seva team has organized a webinar on ‘Emergence and spread of omicron variant - Allopathy, Homeopathy, and Ayurvedic perspectives’. Dr. Jawahar Gazzala and Dr. Hans Ghayee shared omicron updates, preventive measures, vaccines and booster shots insights. Dr. Samarth Chopra, homeopath specialist shared about various homeopathy medicines for Covid treatment and prevention. Dr. Niraj Srivastava, an Ayurvedic Consultant shared Ayurvedic home used species for Covid treatment and prevention. They also covered travel, school, and work precautions and Covid guidelines. The session was facilitated by Dr. Madhu Nemani with the Tech support by Hithesh Gazzala and Puneet Bhatnagar. There were over 50 participants connected through zoom for this session and they all highly appreciated Doctors dedication and service attitude. After the session, a YouTube recording was shared with all VT and Jet members. Atlanta VT Seva team is highly appreciative of all four Doctors selfless service to humanity.
