For the second session of VT - Seva Bay Area’s nutrition workshop, youth leader Sriteja Kataru went into depth about sleep and the role it plays in our life. The webinar consisted of a talk about rem sleep, non rem sleep, why it is so important to get the proper sleep and a q&a to end off!

7 youth volunteers from Austin VTSeva have collected 150lbs of Halloween chocolates from their communities of which 50% were donated to Operation Gratitude for honouring our military, veterans and first responders. Rest are donated to the homeless and Ronald McDonald home charity as goodies packs in their lunch packs

VTSeva Austin volunteers have provided “Lunches with love” for the RMHC on Nov 6th For 50 families.The lunch included a PBJ sandwich, fruit bowl , granola bar, chips, water bottle and a cookie packed and delivered to the families of the cancer patients.

"𝑻𝒓𝒖𝒆 𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝑮𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒕 𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒚" 𝑯𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒏 is the fun time for the children to go out for Trick-or-Treat in their costumes with friends and count the candies they collected and securing their favorite ones. Our Youth Board members went for Trick-or-Treat rather saving the collected candies for themselves, they donated it to the deployed troops through "𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲" a non-profit organization that sends care packages filled with snacks, entertainment, hygiene and handmade items to 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘀, 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀, 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗪𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀, 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨.𝗦. For the month of October, VT Seva Bay Area’s Environmental Services had it’s monthly street cleanup. Youth volunteers cleaned local streets and parks of trash or litter, working to keep our cities clean! You can also check out our instagram - @vtsbayarea for more pictures!

For one of VT Seva Bay Area’s Environmental Services events in October, we had our first green initiative activity! Youth volunteers are encouraged to partake in conservative measures through “Reuse, Reduce and Recycle”. For example, youth volunteers can conserve by cutting down their showers, planting drought-resistant trees, not overusing lights, walk/bike as much as possible, and recycling their materials!

During the last weekend of October 30th and 31th, VT-SEVA Cary and it’s enthusiastic volunteers participated in the RDC Marathon, which took place in Apex. Waking up early on the weekends, the volunteers were determined to help out and give back to the community. On a series of two days, the volunteers cheerfully and enthusiastically participated on both days. Time stamps ranged from early at 6:30 in the morning till almost noon. Small groups of VT-SEVA’s volunteers encouraged and did everything they could to make this experience good for them, as well as the participating runners. VT-SEVA has previously, many times, been participating in the FS-Series as well, and as much as it brought joy to the volunteers as always, this was no different. Many volunteers encouraged as they saw the participants running with as much enthusiasm. The twist of Halloween and fall although, brought even more excitement. Many participants were dressed up in their halloween costumes, and our volunteers cheered, encouraged and clapped for their determination and participation. VT-SEVA Cary has always been, and will definitely love to continue being a part of this journey with FS-Series and supporting marathon runners for the good cause, in the long run.

Atlanta VT Seva Candy Drive collected 500 pounds of Candy and donated to the Soldiers’ Angels Treats for Troops and thereby supporting military families, deployed service members, wounded heroes, and veterans. They love to receive the sweet treat and reminder of home! May no soldier go unloved. May no soldier walk alone. May no soldier be forgotten.

For October’s Sandwich Making activity VT Seva Bay Area had 3 youth volunteers accumulating a total of 4.5 hours. The sandwiches made were later delivered to the homeless shelter known as Life moves, and were served for lunch! You can also check out our instagram - @vtsbayarea for more pictures!

VT Seva Houston team members volunteered and had a booth at a 32-team Charity Cricket Tournament from October 30-31. At the end of an exciting 2-day tournament, tournament organizer Hari Rao donated $1000 dollars to The VT Seva Educational Pillar (Schools for Tribal Children and Nethra Vidyalaya Schools and Colleges). We at VT Seva are always grateful for the support we receive from generous donors!

VT Seva Houston team members held a booth at the India House Diwali Bazaar on October 30. Our youth volunteers did a wonderful job educating passersby and attendees about VT Seva’s pillars and about our Annual Fundraising Event Alok!

Our annual cancer walkathon was a great success this year with a crowd of around 80 people! It was great seeing everyone back in person and we had a lot of fun. Through this event we raised awareness of the different cancers through poster presentations and special guest doctors who spoke about the disease. We also raised money to fund cancer health camps back in India. Overall, the event was a huge success and it was a great learning experience for everyone as well as a fun gathering and way to give back to the community.

VT Seva Detroit successfully celebrated the 6th Annual Cultural Event RAAS-2021 on October 30th, 2021. RAAS is our Annual Celebration event, culminating a great year of various fundraising activities and volunteering service to the community. Some of the key highlights of the event: • Raised funds for 253 Blind and Tribal students’ education • 300+ people attended • Sumptuous Dinner with Mesmerizing Entertainment • Special Thanks to Hon. Senator Jim Runestad for reading out the historic resolution of Deewali festival recognition in the state of Michigan from the stage of VTSEVA Detroit RAAS on an auspicious Thirunakshatram day of H.H. Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami ji.
