Join us for Utsav 2025, our annual fundraiser celebrating empathy and resilience. Together, we support Jeeyar Gurukulam and Nethra Vidyalaya, schools that provide free education and boarding to visually challenged and underprivileged children in India. From a handful of tribal Thandas to nearly 25 villages today, this effort has created lasting generational change—thanks to your continued generosity.

Digital Inspirational Cards for the Underprivileged - Microsoft Give Campaign

This October, as a part of Microsoft's Give Campaign, VTSEVA Seattle conducted corporate volunteering activities to spread awareness and raise funds. Microsoft employees spent a couple of hours out of their busy workdays to come craft cards and learn about VTSEVA's mission and impact. Employees created motivational and heart-warming cards for the underprivileged and visually challenged students in the Netra Vidyalaya and Jeeyar Gurukulam schools. About 70 members joined, contributing 100+ hours.

Composting Activity

VT Seva Bay Area had its monthly compost gardening activity during the month of October. Our volunteers composted things like apple cores, Lettuce, Cardboard, paper bags and much more! Towards the end of the month volunteers sent pictures of how their compost had been going, through this, volunteers also learned the environmental benefit and impact of composting!

Milpitas Park Cleanup Activity

One of VT Seva Bay Area’s October Environmental Services events was Milpitas Park Cleanup. For this event, 4 youth volunteers met up at a park to clean the playgrounds, grass, and sidewalks to keep our city clean!

Human Services - Sandwich Making (Family Housing)

For VT - Seva Bay Area’s second Sandwich making activity of October youth volunteers packed PBJ and Veggie sandwiches for a family housing center in San Jose! The families received a nutritious meal thanks to our youth volunteers!

VT Seva - Cary Halloween Carnival for special needs children

VT Seva Cary held our Halloween Hungama Carnival on October 24, 2021. This event was a Halloween Carnival for special-needs children which included different activities and fun experiences for the kids to participate in. During this event, we organized a variety of activities, such as Sack Racing, Painting, Pumpkin Toss, and the kids took pictures in front of our Halloween banner. We had 16 volunteers participate in this Halloween event. Throughout the event, our volunteers did an exceptional job handling the children that attended, and were extremely patient. Our volunteers interacted with the children to entertain them We had a lot of fun doing this event, and hope to participate in the future too!

Adopt a Creek

For one of VT Seva Bay Area’s Environmental Services events in October, we had our creek cleanup! Youth volunteers went along the sides of a local milpitas creek and picked up garbage, waste, along with much more! This kept our ducks, turtles, and fish safe!

VT Seva Cary - FS Series Marathon

The FS Series Cupcake Marathon took place on the 16th of October at Brier Creek Commons in Raleigh. During this event, various individuals, kids, teens, adults, and seniors, all participated in a 5K marathon and ended up with a t-shirt, a medal, and a cupcake. VT Seva played a big role in this event, with 8 volunteers working to provide water bottles to the tired and thirsty runners in the event as well as the volunteers cheering them on as they were running past the water stand. The volunteers had a great time participating in this event as they were able to help and encourage the runners in their efforts to complete the marathon and were very well received by the runners as they passed by the water stand. Also, following the marathon itself, some of the volunteers helped disassemble the tables and stands and helped wrap up the event. All in all, this volunteering event was a great experience for the VT Seva volunteers as they were able to help the runners through the marathon by providing them with water bottles and cheering them on, and also, the volunteers as a result made the experience that much better for the runners themselves.

VT Seva Detroit Youth Board Outreach Project

VT Seva Detroit Youth Board conducted their 2nd annual Outreach program on 2021. 28 Youths reached out to their families, friends, school teachers/clubs, neighbors and many more to create awareness about VT Seva and its causes who are not aware of VT Seva. By creating awareness they raised money to support 27+ students through their GoFundMeCampaign

Our City Forest

Youth volunteers as a group went to a local urban forestry known as Our City Forest. Our City Forest is a non-profit organization that works towards providing affordable plants and trees for low-income residents as it is required for some houses in the Bay Area. At Our City Forest youth volunteers plucked weeds so that new trees could be planted for the year. Another activity at Our City Forest required youth volunteers to clean up around the forestry in order to provide a clean and beautiful nursery!

On Sunday, October 3rd, 2021 VT Seva Detroit conducted its 4th Annual Public Speaking competition. Students from 3rd grade to 12th grade participated in 3 different groups. HTSA Blood Drive and Temple Seva

VT Seva San Antonio volunteers helped out and participated in the Blood Drive organized by Hindu Temple Of San Antonio on Oct 2nd, 2021. The initiative was well supported by the community and appreciated by STBT, especially considering the need during the pandemic. A few of the volunteers also got an opportunity to help with temple preparations for the upcoming Navarathri Celebrations.

VT Seva Atlanta Youth and Adults participated in the American Heart Walk on Oct 2nd, 2021. More than 30 participants joined the fight against Heart disease and stroke. We walked for our Health. Heart disease is the No.1 killer worldwide and stroke ranks second globally. The Heart walk is a time to see a world free of Heart disease & stroke. VT Seva Atlanta Lambert Club members started their club activity today, Oct 2nd by offering tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastry on their birth anniversaries. Our Motto: Live Healthy and Stay young at the Heart!

We had our annual Mamatha Event virtually this year. This year we made the event almost completely run by the youth volunteers in our chapter. The event was a great success and we had different singing and dance performances, skits, games and emcees. We had two special guests, singer Mrs. Madhu Vijay and the Mayor of Parsippany, Mr. Soriano. We also raised a lot of money towards our cause through different sponsorships and donations from the many people that attended the event!

Laurel Heights Mask Donation Project

Shout out to VT Seva Atlanta children for donating 1200 masks to the Special Need Kids of the Laurel Heights Hospital. Mr. Patrick, the current CEO, Corry, the interim CEO and Dr. Smitha Battula are very thankful to all the VT Seva children and their parents for their outstanding service. In Corry’s words “Masks came right on time for our organization”. Our VT Seva children has touched the lives of special need kids and all the Laurel Heights Doctors and staff members. VT Seva enjoys the partnership with Laurel Heights hospital. We will continue to strengthen in future. Atlanta VT Seva Youth Rocks ✌️✌️✌️
