Womens Sports Day in Sugarland - International Womens Day

Women are strong pillars for their families and their good health brings stability to the family and community at large. On March 7, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, members of the local Houston community safely conducted a Women’s throwball match for a good cause. Score was kept by two youth, Veeraj and Vishu. Vishu, a bright young man who, despite a debilitating diagnosis of Frederich’s ataxia, was there to participate and cheer the teams on. The funds raised, totaling approximately $1000, will be donated to VT Seva and specifically towards VT Seva cancer screening kits for women. Thanking this dynamic group for their generous contribution!

VT Seva Virginia Food Drive

VT Seva Virginia partnered with Loudoun Hunger Relief Pantry to support local hungry families. In honor of National Healthy Breakfast Week, VT Seva Virginia donated 200 grocery bags of food on March 6th. Each cloth grocery bag contained a box of cereal, a package of cereal/granola bars, a package of goldfish, a package of freeze dried fruit, one can of soup, a package of applesauce and a pack of fruit snacks.

Spring Clean up @ Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple

VT SEVA Houston youth team successfully completed its first environmental project event “Spring cleanup drive at Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple”. Early in the morning on Saturday a total of 15 Youth Volunteers showed up on time to perform the task and completed the entire Temple Premises cleanup. After a long time, everyone was happy to get together and pitch in a helping hand. We were able to beautify temple outdoor premises.

VT Seva Dallas Monthly Appreciation lunch for Frisco Police

On March 5th 2021, VT Seva Dallas provided lunch to 80+ police officers and staff at City of Frisco appreciating their services to keep us safe. We will be conducting this on monthly basis every first Friday of the month. Youth gets opportunity to thank the police, interact with them to learn about the law, services and get motivated to grow up as law abiding citizens. They also get to take pictures with the officers. We provide lunch to the officers at both the shifts (11:30 AM and 5:30 PM). Due to Covid restrictions, we can have only 8 youth volunteers per month at 5:00 PM CST to be part of this project. Adults (up to 10) can join us at 11:00 AM CST. Please read the experiences of the youth volunteers next to their single pictures with the officers.

Our City Forest

"𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐨𝐝" - 𝐕𝐓 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐂𝐄𝐎 𝐇𝐇 𝐒𝐫𝐢 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐉𝐞𝐞𝐲𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐰𝐚𝐦𝐢 𝐣𝐢 *𝓡𝓮𝓼𝓬𝓾𝓮 𝓐𝓷𝓲𝓶𝓪𝓵 𝓣𝓸𝔀𝓮𝓵 𝓓𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 𝓟𝓻𝓸𝓳𝓮𝓬𝓽* A rescue animal is a animal that has been placed in a new home after being abused, neglected, or abandoned by its previous owner.... Many animal rescue organisations exist to rescue, protect, care and re-home the animals. What an wonderful service provide by the Animal Shelters to save these voiceless animals! VT Seva Detroit Youth Board did their part to help these animals by collecting the used towels. The towels that we think are useless after some time is a great help to these shelters to take care of the dogs after giving them the bath, using as a rag to train the dogs, cleaning after surgeries. 𝟐𝟔 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫s reached out to their friends and families and collected 210 big towels. Members participated in this project are Yug, Yasaswini, Vaibhav, Teja, Tarun, Sveya, Supraja, Srihari A, Sohan, Siddharth, Shriya, Sathvik, Saisha, Risha, Rashmitha, Oviya, Nikhil, Niharika, Kaavya, Hiba, Harish, Dhanya, Arya, Anjana, Amogh & Abhinav. Due to large volume of collection, we were able to donate it two different organizations. 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞 - supports the rescue animals by fostering them, just a day after we donated the towels they received 30 dogs from Texas where one of the animal shelter was damaged by recent winter storm. They were so happy to receive the towels and happy for the timely help. 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 - - Animal shelter which rescues the animals using the team of trained and credentialed investigators. They are one of the leader in the Animal Welfare community. They provide shelter to lost animals and surrendered animals also. At any given time in each of their location they have 100 some animals (dogs,cats,bunnies..). They were also so happy to receive the towels which will be used in a huge deal to support their mission. Special shout out to the parent volunteers Vanitha ji, Sudheer ji, Sripriya ji, Srinath ji, Priya ji, Madhavan ji and Architha ji for collecting the towels in each city and dropping off. This project was initiated by the Youth Board Member 𝗢𝘃𝗶𝘆𝗮.

PVSA VIRTUAL Award Cermony

On February 28th, VT Seva Cary youth board directed their first PVSA awards ceremony. This eventful session opened up with a blast of energetic words from our directors Kalyani Sanka and Sowjanya Thungathurti, and our amazing emcee and youth board President, Chandrika Changalvala. Then, Thanuj Desu and Ashrith Desu talked about the various activities VT Seva Cary has done so far in 2021. The ceremony started with some inspirational words from our guest speaker, Dawn Dixon. Dawn is the race coordinator at FSSeries, one of the many events our volunteers really enjoy volunteering at. She spoke of her experience on volunteering and service, and helping our volunteers learn how to branch out to gain more experience. Then, our advisor Chakradhar Sriperumbudur spoke about the PVSA awards and volunteerism. The PVSA Award winners were recognized after which they were asked to speak about their experience and journey that led them to this honorary award. Each volunteer gave incredible speeches that were very motivational to the audience. Then Ishani Dasyam introduced VT Seva Cary monthly spotlight performance by one of our very own youth volunteers, Bhaavita Nekkalapudi. Bhaavita gave an energetic performance by playing an improvised piece on the drums, in quite a unique circumstance, that left us all speechless. Finally, the volunteers ended the session on a fun note by playing a quick game of Kahoot, run by Rohitha Sanka, that was both engaging and entertaining. Needless to say, it was a very successful session, leaving all of our volunteers inspired and motivated. Food Drive

A month’s effort of VT Seva Cary youth volunteers finally culminated with a donation at Western Wake Crisis Ministry in Apex yesterday, February 23rd, 2021. Karthikeya Dandu along with Aneesh Yarlagadda and Srini Tirunagari started a food drive with the intention of donating the proceeds to Western Wake Crisis Ministry. A great initiative during these tough times! Later, these kids were joined by Ashrith Desu, Ishani Dasyam, Akhil Dammalapati, Sribhaavita Nekkalapudi & Bharath Nekkalapudi. They prepared flyers and shared it in their respective communities and picked up donations from their neighbors, all the while maintaining strict Covid protocols. Together, they were able to collect and donate 175 pounds of food. This was possible due to the generosity of the donors. We would like to take this opportunity to thank each one of you who donated food for this drive!!! A huge shoutout to parents of these kids for extending their support and helping make this initiative a huge success! Kudos to all the kids who participated in this food drive, especially Karthikeya and Aneesh for such a thoughtful initiative!!

PVSA Award Cermony

Today, VT Seva Cary youth volunteers received their PVSA awards. This year we had eight gold, one silver, and four bronze awards. VTSeva Seattle - Hearts for Heroes

VT Seva Seattle youth club team decided to celebrate their valentine week by sharing their love and gratitude to frontline workers. They have made beautiful poster filled with personalized messages and served delicious meals to Swedish Issaquah ER team and Northwest Ambulance Emergency Technicians. Swedish Hospital Issaquah Campus Northwest Ambulance Critical Care Transport EMT - Emergency Medical Technicians. When a patient in critical condition needs to be transferred from one facility to another, that patient needs a higher level of transport service. This service is known as a Critical Care Transport or CCT level of service. Our Youth worked on this project since a month and written personalized messages to make a big poster and delivered it to Heroes.

Letters to Seniors
