Amy of Sunshine-Be Strong Cards To Bone Marrow Patients
LOCATION:
Cary
February 16, 2025 at 5:00:00 AM
VT Seva Cary – Partnership with Amy’s Ray of Sunshine (March 2025) As a way to support bone marrow patients, VT Seva Cary partnered with Amy’s Ray of Sunshine, an organization dedicated to collecting and delivering cards to bone marrow patients across the USA. Through this heartfelt initiative, our youth volunteers had the opportunity to create 100 beautiful handmade cards and bracelets, each filled with messages of love, courage, and hope. These creations will be distributed to bone marrow patients nationwide, offering encouragement during their treatment journeys and reminding them that they are not alone. The cards and bracelets serve as small but powerful tokens of compassion—bringing smiles, strength, and emotional comfort to those facing challenging times. 💙 This event not only uplifted patients but also gave our youth volunteers a chance to reflect on the importance of empathy, creativity, and service. By channeling their energy into something so meaningful, they learned how even simple acts of kindness can have a profound impact. We hope to continue this opportunity in the future, expanding our reach and touching more lives through the power of service and connection

VT Seva Cary – Best Buddies Sessions (February 2025) On February 2nd, VT Seva Cary volunteers joined a Best Buddies session at the Asha Foundation, where they engaged in inclusive play with children with special needs. Through activities like cricket, soccer, and board games, volunteers created a joyful and accepting environment. The event strengthened bonds and provided emotional enrichment for both the children and the youth participants, fostering a spirit of inclusion and friendship. Continuing this momentum, on February 16th, volunteers returned for another Best Buddies session. This time, the focus was on building deeper connections through creative and interactive activities. Volunteers participated in arts and crafts, storytelling, and collaborative games that encouraged self‑expression and teamwork. The children experienced not only fun but also a sense of belonging, while youth volunteers gained valuable lessons in empathy, patience, and leadership. Together, these sessions highlighted the power of consistent engagement—showing that service is not just about one day, but about building lasting relationships and creating spaces where every child feels valued and celebrated.

Food Sorting at local Food Bank
LOCATION:
Connecticut
February 14, 2025 at 5:00:00 AM
A group of VT Seva youth volunteers in Connecticut made a positive impact by volunteering at a local food bank, (CT Food Share) located at Bloomfield, CT. These young individuals took part in an essential community service by sorting, organizing, and preparing food items for distribution to families and individuals in need. Their tasks included carefully sorting donated goods, checking expiration dates, grouping food into categories, and ensuring that the items were arranged for easy access by those who would later pick them up. One of the significant contributions to the effort was the sorting of 7612 pounds of bread, which equates to 6343 meals. This vast amount of bread will provide a vital source of nourishment to individuals and families in need within the community, making a substantial impact on those who face food insecurity. The volunteers worked diligently to create a well-organized environment, ensuring that the distribution process would run smoothly and efficiently. By volunteering their time and energy, these youth made a real difference in the lives of those who rely on Food Share’s services. Their work at the facility not only contributed to the immediate needs of the community but also fostered a sense of responsibility, empathy, and civic duty among the young volunteers, reinforcing the importance of giving back and making a positive change in the community.
