This was a wonderful opportunity to be able to volunteer for the destined for greatness organization to help be a part of supporting families in need, and empowering the community. This organization does a lot of work in Detroit for the community. For this event specifically, they organize a free giveaway to over 250 metro Detroit families in need, every year on MLK day, taking this holiday to support these people, providing them with sanitary equipment, all types of clothes, accessories, and food for them to take. VT Seva volunteers have the opportunity to take part in this giveaway every year, giving us the chance to help in supporting these families.

Earlier this year, our Youth President of Education, Rahul, and Youth President of Community Service, Aneesh Adusumilli, led an insightful math training session covering UMTYMP concepts! 🧮✨ Over 10 students participated, sharpening their skills and deepening their understanding. On January 19, 2025, 30 youth volunteers from Atlanta VT Seva participated in the Meals By Grace event, supporting families in Georgia facing food insecurity. With dedication and care, our team sorted, packed, and loaded food items, ensuring these families had the essentials needed to nourish their children. This initiative was more than distributing food—it was about spreading hope and ensuring children could go to bed happy, not hungry. It was a humbling experience to make a meaningful difference in their lives. Together, we’re reminded of the strength of community and the positive change we can create when united by a shared purpose. We are proud to contribute to building a brighter, more compassionate future for families in need.

Through activities like cricket, soccer, and board games, volunteers created a joyful, accepting environment. VT Seva Houston volunteers had an opportunity to volunteer at the Houston Food Bank on January 18th. Volunteers cleaned and sorted donated items to prepare them for distributing to communities in need. Each item was inspected and categorized into boxes based on its type and usability. Through teamwork and dedication, we sorted an impressive 19,000 items, which will go on to benefit over 8,000 people in need. It was a truly rewarding experience, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to support such an important cause! On January 12th, VTSeva Chicago volunteers manned informational & fundraising booth at a Goda Kalyanam in association with JET Illinois chapter. Thanks to all adult & youth volunteers from VT Seva for manning the booth & helping JET team with event preparation, setup, photography, cleaning etc tasks. we were able to raise funds for feeding Tribal schools for one day.
