VT Seva Seattle UTSAV 2025 - Annual Fundraiser

Join us for Utsav 2025, our annual fundraiser celebrating empathy and resilience. Together, we support Jeeyar Gurukulam and Nethra Vidyalaya, schools that provide free education and boarding to visually challenged and underprivileged children in India. From a handful of tribal Thandas to nearly 25 villages today, this effort has created lasting generational change—thanks to your continued generosity.

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝: 𝐕𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐮 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭: More than 500 Detroit families were supported through our efforts. On April 5th, 2025, both youth and adult volunteers came together for a volunteering event at Destined for Greatness. We sorted clothing that will be distributed to those in need on April 16th. This effort wasn’t just about organizing clothes—it was about preparing a space for healing and support.

VT Seva Maryland Hosts Successful 2nd Annual SAMATHA Public Speaking Competition!

VT Seva Maryland's youth leader, Akul Pallerla, successfully led the 2nd Annual SAMATHA Public Speaking competition on April 5,2025. Below is his account of the event, highlighting his journey and volunteer experience. Event Summary ----------------- On April 5th, from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, VT SEVA Maryland proudly hosted its 2nd Annual Public Speaking Competition. The event was a great success, bringing together over 18 enthusiastic students from both elementary and middle schools. Participants confidently showcased their creativity, eloquence, and public speaking skills. It was a wonderful opportunity for young speakers to express themselves and shine on stage. Acknowledgments -------------------- The success of this event would not have been possible without the unwavering support and heartfelt involvement of our amazing parents and volunteers. From the early stages of preparation to the final moments of the event, their guidance, encouragement, and generosity shone through. Their dedication created a warm, welcoming, and uplifting environment that truly inspired everyone involved. We are deeply grateful for their contribution. Empowering Youth Through Public Speaking ------------------------------------ This public speaking competition stands as a testament to the remarkable talent, creativity, and confidence of the young minds in our community. It reflects VT SEVA Maryland’s strong commitment to nurturing communication skills and leadership through the power of spoken words. We are excited to continue expanding this initiative and inspiring the next generation of confident speakers, thoughtful leaders, and changemakers. Books for Africa Drive

VT Seva MN launched the Books for Africa Drive this March,. We took a meaningful step forward by donating a wide range of school supplies—including pencils, erasers, markers, crayons, notebooks, binders, and more. We're thrilled to share that we’ve collected over 130 educational books to support students in need!

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝: 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐯 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥 IMPACT: Our volunteers made over 5000 forget me not flowers to give to our veterans. Forget Me Not National Day is on November 10th in the USA & it is a special day that reminds us to honor and support veterans who have returned from service with injuries and disabilities. During this forget me not flower making activity, our youth volunteers we exhibited great team work & it was a fun team building experience as well working together & accomplishing the goal.

Lambert Senior Living Visit

On April 4, 2025, Lambert VTSeva held a senior-living visit to Antebellum James Burgess. Around 15 VT youth participated in the event. We helped to conduct a bingo game for the residents, helped them paint some pretty Easter-themed art, and made Easter cards for the staff to hand out to the residents on the day of Easter! It was heartwarming to see how much they enjoyed our company and we can’t wait to conduct another visit soon!

VTS Det - IAE VTS Club - DAV Flower Making Event

During this event, we created the forget-me-not flower as a symbol of remembrance and support towards veterans suffering from disabilities. To make them complete, we attached these flowers to notecards!

VTS Detroit - NFHS Club - DAV flower making event

On April 2nd and 9th, VTS members gathered after school to create “forget-me-not” flower crafts to honor and remember disabled American veterans! This small act of appreciation was a heartfelt way to show our respect and gratitude to those who served, and we’re proud to have contributed to such a meaningful cause!!

VT Seva Detroit Youth Board Books & Toys Drive

In March 2025, *VTSEVA Detroit Youth Board* , in collaboration with Brilliant Detroit hosted a Used Book & Toy Drive. Thanks to the generosity of 44 youth board members, we collected 343 books and 72 toys, which will bring joy, learning, and comfort to children and families in need and keep these items out of landfills.

SPHOORTHI 2025 - 3rd Annual Event

Our sincere gratitude to all our youth and adult volunteers who made San Antonio branch's 3rd annual event, SPHOORTHI 2025, a success! SPHOORTHI, meaning Inspiration, is a celebration of volunteerism! We are proud of our 100+ volunteers who, very passionately, participated in 40+ service activities and helped San Antonio branch sponsor education for 50+ Nethravidyala and Gurukulam students in 2024. About 10 of our youth volunteers received President's Volunteer Service Award for their service in 2024, and we are thankful to each and every volunteer who contributed toward's VT Seva's mission of making a positive and lasting difference in our community! With renewed inspiration from this fun-filled celebration on March 30th, 2025, our volunteers are well on track to have another successful year of service in 2025 and years to come!

International Women's Day

On March 30, 2025, VT Seva hosted a special webinar to honor women’s well-being, both physical and emotional, in recognition of International Women’s Day. Dr. Madhu Nemani, VT Seva Atlanta Director, kicked off the event, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to women’s empowerment. Dr. Anita Gupta then shared key insights on preventive health, stressing regular checkups, exercise, early diagnosis, and timely treatment.

Rashmi Airan, a motivational speaker and advocate, inspired attendees with her personal story of overcoming adversity. She introduced her 4-step ‘Rise’ process: Reframe, Identify, Surrender, and Evolve, encouraging women to evolve in challenging situations and rise above adversity. Dr. Shivam Dubey, a psychiatrist and mental health advocate, shared a 3-step approach to maintaining mental health, emphasizing Biological Awareness, Psychological Core Beliefs, and Social and Positive Attitude.

Dr. Bhupender Rai, a plastic surgeon shared valuable insights into cosmetic surgery, addressing common myths and the importance of a positive mindset during treatment and recovery. The event was concluded by Dr. Madhu, who expressed gratitude to the speakers and the VT Seva Atlanta team, including Chithra Jayakumar, Harsh Gulati, Anitha Mathan, Priya Raghuraman, and Raghuraman Sambantham, for their support. The VT Seva National Team, including Krishna Kanth ji, Santhi ji, and Madhaviji attended the event and also provided positive feedback. As VT Seva’s CEO says: “Gender does not matter in respecting and worshipping one when there is clarity, purity, and divinity in thought and action.” We look forward to more events that empower and inspire women!

Detroit - WIHI VTS Club - Teen Mental Wellness Event

Mental health is a vital part of the human experience, especially for teenagers navigating the challenges of school and life. Recognizing the importance of mental well-being, the VTS Club at North Farmington High School has taken a meaningful step in promoting Teen Mental Health Awareness.

To encourage mindfulness, self-care, and seeking help when needed, the club has created an impactful poster showcasing practical ways to improve mental health. Our club members hung these posters in various places in the school. These reminders serve as daily encouragement, helping students prioritize their well-being.

On Saturday, March 29,2025, VTSeva Chicago volunteers went to a Northern Illinois Food Bank session and helped pack food! Thank you to Sahithi , Sruthi, Veda , Ishani , Kiva, Ananya, Nishanth , Aditya and other adult volunteers that participated and helped make a positive impact today!

𝗩𝗧 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗶𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 Forgotten Harvest Volunteering

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱: 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗥𝗮𝗴𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: With our help, Forgotten Harvest was able to pack 10,874 pounds of chocolate to distribute across Metro Detroit Food pantries, churches, schools. Our VT Seva Detroit volunteers had the amazing opportunity to spend the day volunteering at Forgotten Harvest, an organization that helps fight hunger. We worked together to pack, seal, and label bags of chocolate, each weighing about 2 pounds.
