VT Seva Seattle UTSAV 2025 - Annual Fundraiser
Join us for Utsav 2025, our annual fundraiser celebrating empathy and resilience. Together, we support Jeeyar Gurukulam and Nethra Vidyalaya, schools that provide free education and boarding to visually challenged and underprivileged children in India. From a handful of tribal Thandas to nearly 25 villages today, this effort has created lasting generational change—thanks to your continued generosity.

International Youth Day - VTSeva Dallas

VT Seva Dallas Youth Meet (virtual) for International Youth Day celebration was a grand success. It was a great moment for the youth who reflected on their past volunteering experiences, nice memories and learnings. Youth volunteers also walked through volunteering opportunities and youth projects for 2024-25 academic year. VT Seva always empowers youth by engaging them in community service activities and youth development programs. As per the Youth Day theme: From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development, VT Seva youth also showed they are capable of using Digital Technology as a tool for transformation towards sustainability. Special Thanks to youth members Soham, Akhil, Pranay, Rasagna, Abhiram, Vedhas and all other youth. Thank you to all the adults who joined, and are helping their little younger kids to become future youth leaders.

Inaugural cricket tournament

VT Seva Seattle hosted an inaugural cricket tournament on August 10th, and it was a smashing success! From thrilling matches to team spirit at its finest, the event brought together incredible talent and sportsmanship. A big thank you to all the teams who participated and everyone who supported us. Together, we are close to realizing our goal of building tiny homes for the homeless, in collaboration with Sounders NW.

VTSEVA Detroit 1st Basketball tournament

This year, VT Seva Detroit hosted its 1st ever basketball tournament! There were two categories of competition, 10-13 years old and 14+ years. The first category had two teams registered and the second had ten teams. BSB emerged victorious at the end of the tournament, winning with a score of 11 - 6 against Max Relax, claiming the trophy! Additionally, Lisa Jackson from Florida Blue, Jacksonville, and Rajesh Raja from Michigan, each sponsored the education of one student. Overall, this event allowed us to support 3 Nethra Vidyalaya students for a year, making it a great success!

Friendship Day Celebration

As part of our yearly programs, VTSeva took our youth on a meaningful visit to the Mill Creek Police departments to express our gratitude for their selfless service in protecting our communities. Our youth prepared a delicious lunch and handmade friendship bands to present to the police officers as a symbol of our respect and admiration for their tireless efforts. The officers were visibly moved by this kind gesture, and it was clear that such interactions are a rare occurrence in their line of work.During our visit, the youth had the opportunity to engage in open and honest conversations with the police officers. They learned about their daily responsibilities, motivations for joining the force, and the challenges they face on the job. This exchange not only educated our youth but also helped build bridges between the community and law enforcement.

VT SEVA Maryland Youth Leaders Successfully Conclude July Summer Camp

The VT SEVA Maryland summer camp, led by youth leader Mridula Vasudevan in July, has successfully concluded. The camp provided students with valuable instruction on topics relevant to their upcoming academic year, as well as engaging activities such as chess, yoga, and arts and crafts to stimulate their minds and bodies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mridula Vasudevan, camp leader, shares her experience: During this camp, our students received instruction on topics relevant to their upcoming academic year, as well as engaging activities such as chess, yoga, and arts and crafts to stimulate their minds and bodies. Through this experience, I had the opportunity to refine my communication and organizational skills. As a leader, I was responsible for coordinating with volunteers, managing the camp schedule, and communicating with parents and students. This taught me the importance of clear communication, adaptability, and effective problem-solving. I extend my gratitude to the parents, students, and volunteers who collaborated to make this project a success. Each individual played a vital role in making this experience memorable. *Special Acknowledgments I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to: Our students, whose enthusiasm and intelligence made this experience truly rewarding. VTS Detroit YB Community Family Life Center (CFLC) Event

On August 3rd 2024, VTSEVA Detroit Youth Board participated at the Community Family Life Center (CFLC), where we helped pack produce, canned goods, toiletries, and dairy. These items are then loaded into cars of people in need. We were able to help around 130 households and around 300 people.

Zero Paper Waste Drive

ATL Zero Waste Paper Drive was a big success! It was our eco-friendly project in which Atlanta youths collected more than 250 used notebooks for recycling. They took out unused papers from the used notebooks through seam rippers, sort & stack papers, and later bind papers & build new Notebooks of 80 pages each. We created 6 new notebooks yesterday and 50 new notebooks are work-progress ✌️✌️ It’s a great hands-on inspirational project for our youths to implement reuse / recycle technique and transform used notebooks to new the new Notebooks 📘📕📗 Each ton of recycle paper saves 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, 7000 gallons of water, 4000 KW of energy, and 3 cubic yards of landfill space. Together 🤝🤝 we can make a difference and conserve our natural resources!

Tribute To Bharat

In Celebration of India's 78th Independence Day in August 2024, VT Seva Cary initiated a project to Tribute to Bharat" initiative, aimed at honoring the valiant freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India's independence In this project our youth volunteers got the opportunity by creating infographics that celebrate the lives and contributions of these heroes. We completed the presentation of all 31 Freedom Fighters which has been published everyday over this August Month . We are greatly proud of our youth volunteers & Youthboard for exemplary dedication and enthusiasm and look forward to their ongoing contributions to our future initiatives.

Atlanta Youth Led Walkathon

VT Seva Atlanta team organized 1st youth-led Walkathon - ‘Be Yourself’ on August 24, 2024 for the blind / visually impaired community of Atlanta. VT Seva stands for ‘Volunteering Together For Service’. We are a non-profit org with branches in more than 25 plus cities all across US. All our service activities are focused towards 4 domains - Education, Environment, Disaster Relief, and Healthcare. In Atlanta, we have 14 youth clubs in High schools and Middle schools which actively participate in the year-round community services in Atlanta. Our youths organized ‘Be Yourself’ Walkathon which started on Aug 1st, 2024 in virtual mode and successfully completed on Aug 24th with in-person grand finale. We had 10 plus youth teams who registered for this event and who walked every day and logged their miles virtually on our portal. We invited Ms. Lisa Kennedy, CEO & President of the Atlanta ‘Center For Visually Impaired’ as our Chief guest for this special walkathon to empower the vision loss community of Atlanta. Among the other guests, we had Senator Carter, GAPI President, Dr. Lalitha, Abigali Parkes, and Bharat from Assureguru for this Walkathon. More than 200 people registered and participated in this Walkathon to stay healthy and support the visually impaired of Atlanta in 'Be Yourself' initiative. Innovation academy youth team was in the 1st place with the highest miles walked followed by the Lambert Highschool team. On August 24th, VT Seva volunteers dressed-in VT spirits & blue color shirts and walked 3 miles distance. We raised $1000 for the Center For the Visually Impaired. We arranged healthy snacks for all participants and gave special award to Ms. Lisa Kennedy, Senator Carter, Gapi President, and business event sponsor AssureGuru. According to Pantanjali, "The longest journey begins with a single step", and VT Seva has taken a single step on August 24, 2024 to empower and support wholeheartedly the vision loss community of Atlanta. We’ll take many more steps together in future to empower them with hope, light, and success. Our Chief Guest, Ms. Lisa Kennedy other distinguished guests were highly impressed to see the dedication, commitment, and service mindset of the VT Seva Atlanta team. We are very thankful and grateful for this wonderful opportunity to empower the vision loss community of Atlanta!

VTSeva Detroit Forgotten Harvest volunteering

VT Seva volunteers worked together at Forgotten Harvest facilities to pack 9744 lb of food. This food is delivered to food pantries and other similar organizations to be distributed out to families. Each pound helps feed a family, meaning our volunteers left a huge impact in helping their local community fight food insecurity.
