Seattle youth and adult volunteers participated in an Earth Day event restoring native habitat at Evans Creek Preserve for eventual meadows and bee hive setup later this year.

We had our Go Green webinar event at Sharon fork Library on 04/13/2024 10:30Am- 12:30PM . We learnt about Sustainable Living - - what is sustainability and why is it important? - 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) - How to practice Reduce and Reuse in daily life - Why recycle? - What can you recycle (paper, plastic, metal) - Recycling exercise (sorting of mixed items) - What happens to your recyclable items after collection (video) - Goal setting by youths for sustainable living

Our book drive for an elementary school in Africa Ghana was very inspiring and motivating. It was great work done as a team. We have successfully collected more than 1500 books and raised funds of 650 $ for shipping as well. Our package has been shipped to New Orleans. From New Orleans the packages will be shipped to Africa Ghana. Thanks to all youth volunteers and their parents to make the book drive successful.

VT Seva Detroit volunteered at the Forgotten Harvest packaging center on April 13th, 2024. The center is a Detroit-based nonprofit that is fighting hunger and food waste by rescuing surplus food from various sources and distributing it to local charities. 16 VT Seva Detroit Volunteers(Youth and Adults) helped out at the Forgotten Harvest center in Oak Park and packed a total of 4383 pounds for the following Monday’s shipment.

Every quarter, for the past 5 years, VT SEVA Cary volunteers have participated in Adopt a Highway. For the first time, VT SEVA Cary has participated in an Adopt a Highway with the Town of Apex! Volunteers participated in cleaning up the area on West Street Park in Apex, and made sure that the necessary clean-up and care was done. Great job to all of our 15 youth volunteers and 2 adult volunteers who showed up and did their best work!

VT SEVA Cary had the opportunity to create appreciation cards for our beloved WakeMed staff at the WakeMed Cary Hospital. VT SEVA Cary volunteers were able to make 200 cards total with appreciative, thoughtful, and kind messages. The cards were dropped off at a location by April 27th, and were delivered to WakeMed Cary to reach the staff and serve as a reminder of their continuous hard work and service for our community. The handmade cards by our volunteers not only featured lovely messages, but also creative uses of color and imagery that we hope helped warm the hearts of their recipients. We had a total of 50 volunteers participate in the creation of these cards! Great job to all of our volunteers!

In collaboration with the Town of Morrisville, VT SEVA Cary volunteers participated in the Town of Morrisville Green Day Event where youth volunteers assisted adult volunteers in the textile station, FOG collection, paper shredding, and the goodwill. The Town of Morrisville hosts Green Day events for community members to recycle goods that cannot be placed in residential recycling pickup and to dispose of hazardous or sensitive materials. These events are sponsored by the Public Works Department, the Sustainability Program, and the Morrisville Environment and Stormwater Committee, and they take place each spring and fall. Our 6 youth volunteers diligently volunteered in each of their roles, and efficiently assisted their adult volunteers to contribute towards the betterment of our environment!

VT Seva MN partnered with Disabled American Veterans (DAV) to make over 5,000 beautiful Forget-Me-Not flowers. The little blue Forget-Me-Not flowers serve as a symbol of remembrance, a tradition dating back to World War I, when they were used to commemorate the lives of soldiers, servicemen, and women lost in battle. Thank you to our 40+ youth volunteers who helped to complete this project!

VT Seva Virginia medical youth board and environmental youth( 5 youth members) created podcast on April 8th about the solar eclipse . So far, we have about 18 views on Spotify. The podcasts were published under the name ‘The VT Seva Show’

Your contributions made a meaningful impact on World Health Day and beyond. *Special thanks to Vidya Nahar ji* for her time and guiding us through the transformative practice of Pranayama and sharing invaluable yogic breathing techniques. *Introduction to Laughter yoga was an absolute delight!* Through a series of breathing techniques, we found ourselves bursting into laughter, letting go off stress and tension. It was a truly refreshing and uplifting session that left us feeling energized and rejuvenated. Techniques we learned can greatly benefit by helping manage stress, improve focus, and enhance overall well-being. 🙏 #WorldHealthDay #AlzheimersAwareness🌍

Proud of our VTSeva Seattle Team for a massively successful UTSAV Annual Event on April 7th. Our youth team had the opportunity to showcase the journey of our Netra Robotics team to the world championship through a captivating Drama. Together in 2023, we empowered by sponsoring education for 652 students across our Netra Vidyalaya and Jeeyar Gurukulam schools. We are incredibly proud of our dedicated volunteers and thankful for the donors who supported our mission. The Utsav Event was a night filled with captivating performances, heartfelt moments, and inspiring stories, leaving a lasting impact on all attendees.
