Visually Challenged Robotics team from India travelling to Houston Worlds competition

Our Nethra Vidyalaya robotics team has won state, regional, and national competitions in India and made it to the FIRST Robotics World competition!
From dreaming to achieving, the Robotics Championship is a testament to the power of perseverance and innovation.
Please help them attend the FIRST Championship International Competition in Houston, April 17-20, 2024

Brown Bag Ministry

The Brown Bag Ministry is a non-profit that aims to make sure that no one goes to sleep hungry. We have volunteered with them many times and we are glad to have the chance to come back. For this event, volunteers packed lunches that were distributed to homeless people across Durham & Wake County. Volunteers prepared, placed, and packed these lunches so they can be shipped out to feed someone in need. Outstanding work by our cary volunteers for the Brown bag ministry event.

Adopt a Highway

Adopt A Highway is an event that VTSeva Cary has taken up every quarter for the past 5 years. We clean and maintain a portion of Green Level church road and plan on continuing this in the future. Our VT Seva Youth volunteers have done a tremendous job adopting and cleaning out the highway. We have got around six bags of trash and recycling off of our street. Youth volunteers were outstanding and maintained a positive environment as well as dedication towards work.

Our youth volunteers have created over 225 Thank you cards to thank the firefighters and convey to them that we appreciate them taking care of us in the community! The youth volunteers have also made 25 posters for each of the fire stations we are supporting. Creating the cards by our youth volunteers to Thank firefighters was commendable.

Outstanding job by our VT Seva Volunteers for the Ganesh Idol Making @SV Temple Cary on September 9th, September 10th and September 16th 2023. The volunteers made Ganesh Idols at the events. Kudos to our VT Seva Cary team to make the multiple day volunteering events successful while having fun.

Excellent job by our VT Seva Volunteers at the Krishna Ashtami Celebrations @Radha Krishna Mandir, Apex on September 9th 2023. The volunteers helped at the registration desk, On Stage and Off stage to make the event successful. Volunteers have participated in various events like dahi handi, palki yatra, crafts, games, front desk registration, book stall, food preparation and packing and made the event successful. Kudos to our VT Seva Cary team.

Durham Food Bank warehouse

Incredible work done by our VT Seva Youth and Adult volunteers at the Food Bank @Durham inside the warehouse at Food Bank. Youth and adult volunteers participated in sorting out the produce and place them in the bags, sorting out donations from retail stores such as Food Lion and Harris Teeter, cleaned and bagged the juice packets, build CSFP boxes for senior citizens, sorted and inspected food drive donations from individuals and corporate donations, clea and sort out eggs, bagged cereal, rice, pasta into boxes. Kudos to all the volunteers for their tremendous effort.

Durham Diaper Bank

Our VT Seva volunteers had done amazing work volunteering at the Diaper Bank, Durham location on Aug 19th 2023. There were around 24 volunteers that participated in wrapping diapers in the Durham Diaper Bank. All the wrapped diaper packets were distributed to families with babies and children living in poverty. A Big Thanks to all the volunteers in helping out for the great cause.

- On July 17 th 2023, VT Seva Cary had the first grand annual in person event of the current year. Sri. China Jeeyar Swami ji (JET USA CEO) blessed VT Seva Cary with his gracious presence on the occasion. A very grand welcome was given to the Swami ji upon his arrival to the event with festive drum music using Dhol by few high school students. VT Seva Cary Youth Board and Board members spent a numerous number of hours behind to plan for this big event to be successful. Kudos to all the members of the team to make this event a tremendous success. VT Seva Cary Youth board and board had spent countless hours preparing for EMCEE, National anthems, Prajna kids to sing the prayer songs, Band to welcome Swamiji. VT Seva Cary had done an excellent job creating the art showcase, Sruthi Dance Academy had done an impressive job preparing the kids to perform the dance at the event. On the day of the event our VT Seva Cary volunteers and parents have pitched in to make the event successful by involving in activities such as decorating the event hall, table setup, food pickup, food setup, receiving the guests, food packing and cleanup after the event. There were around six hundred audience who came to witness the grand SADAYA event that involved the message by VT Seva Cary Board Director about the character & personality that will help the kids grow as great citizens and contribute to the society, Members of the board and the EMCEEs to welcome the dignitaries and the speeches about VT Seva Cary, JET, Prajna, Volunteering and Service. Sri. Swami ji awarded Presidential Awards to the VT Seva Volunteers for 2022 who had successfully serviced the community in the past year. A Big Thank you to all the dignitaries Ex-Mayor of Morrisville, Mr. Mark Stohlman, Michelle Old CEO of Diaper Bank NC, Durham Rescue Mission NC, Dawn Dixon FS-Series Marathon’s coordinator, Officer Kenneth Ragland APEX Police Team, Nia Richardson Meals On Wheels – Communication coordinators that were able to attend the SADAYA event to make it a grand success. The evening of grand SADAYA event ended with the most awaited speech by the Holi Highness Sri. China Jeeyar Swami Ji that conveyed messaged on the importance of the service to humanity and equality.

On the occasion of Earthday VT Seva Cary Volunteers participated to find a creative, effective way to help our wonderful planet which is The Donate a Plant . Volunteers did an amazing job to make our mother earth a beautiful, healthy and enjoyable place to live for generations !!! The Donate a Plant Challenge took 3 weeks. It started from April 22 to the third week of May. Volunteers take care of, grow, care for, and nurture their plants and the plants given to a friend or family member.
