Durham Rescue Mission

Cary
November 22, 2025 at 5:00:00 AM
VT Seva Cary continued its commitment to community service with two impactful volunteering sessions at the Durham Rescue Mission โ Menโs Campus. A team of 20 youth and 4 adult volunteers came together to serve meals and offer support to individuals experiencing homelessness. Durham Rescue Mission, North Carolinaโs oldest and largest non-profit homeless shelter, has long been a partner in our service journey. Over the years, this has become one of VT Seva Caryโs core volunteering events, and we are honored to be consistently invited back to contribute. This time was especially meaningful, as our volunteers helped with one of the missionโs most essential servicesโserving hot meals to the men who find shelter and hope at the Rescue Mission. It was a powerful reminder of the impact we can make right here in our own communities. We are proud to stand alongside Durham Rescue Mission in their mission to uplift lives, and we look forward to continuing this partnership in the months ahead.

November 21, 2025 at 5:00:00 AM
On November 21st, VT SEVA South Forsyth High School hosted our community fundraising event, Cone Up for a Cause, at Jeremiahโs Italian Ice on Peachtree Parkway. From 3 PM to 9 PM, students, families, and community members stopped by throughout the afternoon and evening to enjoy Italian ice, gelatis, and soft-serve while supporting a meaningful mission. At the counter, guests used the code VTSEVA, allowing 20% of each purchase to go directly toward our initiative. Our goal for this event was to raise awareness about the fight against drug abuse while also generating funds to support the impactful work being done at Emory Rehabilitation Hospital. Although the event maintained a calm and steady flow of visitors, each contribution counted, and every purchase โ big or small โ helped push our mission forward. The atmosphere was warm and encouraging, with volunteers greeting guests, sharing information, and fostering a sense of community involvement. The funds we raised will be donated to Emory Rehabilitation Hospital, where they will help support patient rehabilitation, treatment access, and ongoing recovery support services. For those inspired to extend their support beyond the event, additional donations can be made through Emoryโs official giving page.๐ฅโฅ๏ธ Ultimately, Cone Up for a Cause was more than a fundraiser; it was a moment for our school and local community to come together, enjoy something sweet, and support a cause that genuinely matters. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared the event, or contributed in any way. Your support helps us continue creating positive impact, one event at a time.
