Atlanta

April 20, 2025 at 4:00:00 AM

🪴 April Cool Plant Sale 🪴 Our plant-based Earth Day initiative, April Cool, celebrates the power of growing plants as a way to connect with nature and commit to a more sustainable future. This meaningful event began in February, where youth were educated on how to grow plants from seed to bloom. They learned about soil composition, optimal temperature, proper watering, essential nutrients, and daily plant care. As the journey progressed, the youth documented and shared their gardening experiences - encouraging others to join in and discover the joy of nurturing life from the soil up. On April 20, 2025, the youth hosted a vibrant plant sale featuring a variety of herbs, vegetables, flowers, and fruit-bearing plants. The community was inspired by their passion and dedication, leading many to enroll their children in VT Seva programs. It was a deeply rewarding and successful event for the Atlanta team, filled with learning, growth, and the spirit of giving back to the Earth!

April 26, 2025 at 4:00:00 AM

On April 26th, VT Seva Atlanta organized a creative and eco-friendly 'Earth Day' activity focused on reuse-reduce-recycle initiative. About 22 youth and 8 adult volunteers participated in the activity to create new notebooks by repurposing the left-over pages from used notebooks. It is amazing to see the teamwork and enthusiasm as the youths sorted and assembled the pages, helping adults cut and bind them into new notebooks then finally, decorating the front cover page. Through this hands-on project, we believe VT Seva enabled youths to learn the importance of reducing waste and reusing the resources.

Atlanta

March 29, 2025 at 4:00:00 AM

Lambert VT Seva, Atlanta has conducted FoCo cleanup on Mar 29th 2025 with the help of 10+ VT Seva Youth Volunteers. First, we were assigned with the Gilbert Road for the clean up and were provided with the trash bags, vests, gloves and a complimentary t-shirt for everyone by Forsyth County. On the event day, we gathered around 9:30 am and got waivers signed up by parents and distributed supplies to each volunteer and started cleaning the road. We had to carefully stay on the sides within the grass as this road did not have a sidewalk. In total, we managed to collect a wide variety of trash including plastic, papers, glass bottle, cigars, tires, electric wires, car accessories, cardboard signs and many more. Through participating in this activity, our own VTSeva volunteers had the great opportunity to make our county more beautiful for everyone!
