With the support of thousands of volunteers and donors, we had an incredibly impactful year filled with numerous activities dedicated to uplifting and empowering our community.
Highlighting these efforts, 323 youth volunteers were honored with the President's Volunteer Service Awards, a testament to their unwavering dedication and inspiring spirit of volunteerism.

Sita Rama Kalyanam

On March 29th, 2026, VTSEVA Cary sent 12 Youth Volunteers to assist in the Sita Rama Kalyanam, hosted by a joint operative of JET and NATS. Volunteers mainly assisted with crowd control, food handling, and promotion of VTSEVA specific material, including VTSEVA Cary’s Walkathon, VTSEVA’s Feeding Hope Program, and VTSEVA’s Volunteering Program. Volunteers maintained dedication to their assigned tasks with motivation, going above and beyond to make sure the event was a success. A majority of the audience members stated that all three groups were doing admirable work, even asking for photos. We want to thank both JET and NATS for this wonderful opportunity volunteering for this kalyanam and we hope to have more like-minded opportunities in the future!

Durham Rescue Mission Men’s Campus 03/28

On March 28th, 2026, VT Seva Cary volunteers assisted at the Durham Rescue Mission Men’s Campus, a shelter dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness. A team of 10 youth volunteers and 1 adult volunteer worked together to support preparations for the Durham Rescue Mission Easter event, which is a large community initiative held in Durham.The volunteers contributed by helping prepare Easter baskets, organizing materials, and supporting the setup process for the upcoming event. Their efforts ensured that items were arranged efficiently and ready for distribution.Through teamwork, coordination, and attention to detail, the volunteers played a meaningful role in supporting the event preparations. The experience allowed them to engage in community service while reinforcing VT Seva’s commitment to contributing to impactful local initiatives.

On March 27th, 2026, VT Seva Cary volunteers assisted at a Miracle League event, supporting children with special needs as they participated in baseball activities. Our 7 youth volunteers took part in the event, which was organized into two sessions, both running successfully. Volunteers worked closely with the children, helping them play, stay engaged, and enjoy their favorite sport in a supportive and inclusive environment. Through their encouragement and participation, our volunteers helped ensure that each child felt seen, valued, and included. This event was a meaningful experience for everyone involved, highlighting the importance of inclusion, compassion, and community impact.

Throughout the event, the group remained focused and responsible in carrying out their assigned tasks. Their dedication, teamwork, and attention to detail played an important role in supporting the overall success of the program at the temple.

VT Seva Cary Youth Volunteer's First Quarterly Meeting

On March 22nd, 2026, VT Seva Cary successfully conducted its first quarterly meeting for this year! With a total of 80 youth volunteers, including middle and high school students, participating in the session. The meeting provided volunteers with essential information, important updates, and a deeper understanding of VT Seva’s mission and ongoing initiatives. Key topics included a review of basic organizational guidelines, updates on the newly introduced strike system, and discussions on upcoming activities. To keep the session engaging and inspiring, volunteers were introduced to two fundraising initiatives. Middle school students participated in a DAV flowers activity, which encouraged creativity and meaningful involvement, while high school students engaged in discussions and interactive segments. Chakradar Swamy Ji did an exceptional job keeping the high school students actively engaged throughout the meeting. The volunteers demonstrated a high level of discipline and respect by attentively listening, following instructions, and actively participating in the activities. Overall, the meeting was well-organized, interactive, and impactful, leaving volunteers informed, motivated, and ready to contribute further.

On March 21st, 2026, VT Seva Cary volunteers assisted at the Diaper Bank of North Carolina, supporting efforts to provide essential supplies to families in need. Diapers can be a significant expense for many households, especially as they are used frequently. The collected and packed diapers will be distributed to single mothers and underprivileged widowed mothers, helping ease their financial burden and support the well-being of their babies. The volunteers demonstrated excellent teamwork by organizing an efficient assembly line system: some members stacked diapers, others wrapped them, while the rest packed them into boxes and placed them in designated areas. This coordinated approach allowed the team to work smoothly and productively. Their dedication, strong collaboration, and focus enabled them to pack a remarkable number of diapers. The group’s enthusiasm and commitment made a meaningful contribution to the success of the event!

We thank the SV Temple for this opportunity, and we hope to have more in the future!

FS Series Marathon

On March 15th, 2026, VT Seva Cary volunteers assisted the FS Series Marathon, supporting runners throughout the morning. Our 10 youth volunteers and 2 adult volunteers arrived early to set up tables and prepare refreshments despite the cold conditions. As runners passed through the rest area, volunteers efficiently handed out water and Gatorade, ensuring a smooth flow without slowing participants down. Throughout the event, the team demonstrated strong coordination by rotating roles and maintaining energy during peak moments. Volunteers also helped with cleanup at the end, leaving the area organized. Their proactiveness, teamwork, and dedication contributed to a successful event while supporting the local running community.

On March 15th, 2026, VT Seva Cary volunteers participated in Creek Week 2026 Stormwater Drain Assessments, supporting local environmental conservation efforts. Our 5 youth volunteers and 1 adult volunteer began by reviewing procedures before surveying storm drains in the area, inspecting each for signs of clogging or discoloration. Volunteers labeled drains, recorded observations using a town-provided app, and helped assess approximately 50 drains across the community. Through their initiative and teamwork, volunteers contributed valuable data while raising awareness about environmental sustainability and protecting local waterways.

On March 14th, 2026, VT Seva Cary volunteers partnered with the Town of Morrisville for a cleanup event at Crabtree Creek, working to protect and preserve the local environment. Our 3 youth volunteers actively picked up trash throughout the creek and surrounding areas, helping create a cleaner and healthier space for nature to thrive. Throughout the event, volunteers demonstrated strong attentiveness and responsibility, earning praise from both the Youth Lead and Youth Board for their efforts. Their dedication and teamwork made a positive impact on the community, and we are proud of the example they set in promoting environmental stewardship.

Invasive Plant Species Removal

On March 14th, 2026, VT Seva Cary volunteers assisted at the Invasive Plant Species Removal, helping the ecosystem grow with fewer obstacles. Our 8 youth volunteers worked together to help cut down trees and clear plants throughout the event. Volunteers made sure to work as hard as possible and help the environment even though this was a tiring volunteering event.Through teamwork and perseverance, the volunteers helped create a clean environment that can promote the growth of native plant species. The experience allowed volunteers to directly clean the community while supporting VT Seva’s pillar of environmental protection.
