On August 2nd, 2025, VT Seva Houston volunteers volunteered with the Arc Of Katy organization, a special organization that helps foster kindness and community within people with intellectual disabilities. Our volunteers took part in various activities, such as washing buses and providing assistance with vacuuming the vehicles in order to provide a cleaner and tidier place for kids to sit inside. Volunteers also wiped down windows with towels and removed dirt as well as pulling weeds from the mini garden!. During the vehicle washing, Mrs. Sherry, one of the leaders of the Arc of Katy organization, explained to the volunteers about the Arc’s purpose and goal, while the VT Seva volunteers shared their goals and purpose in return. It was a fantastic learning experience for everyone. We would like to convey special thanks to Mr. Walt for assisting the volunteers with the equipment and to Mrs. Sherry for introducing us further to the organization and providing a wonderful opportunity to volunteer with the Arc.

Big thanks to our VT Seva volunteers who volunteered to the Houston Food Bank on September 6th, 2025! Together we packed 9,626 oranges, filled 11 pallets, and moved over 11,000 pounds of fresh fruit in just one day—what an awesome team effort!

From July 28 to August 1, 2025, VT Seva Houston organized a five day summer music camp focused on semi-classical keerthanas. The camp was led by three high school student teachers,(Samhita, Amrita and Shritan) who provided notations, recordings, and personalized feedback to participants. Their leadership made the learning accessible while fostering a spirit of peer-to-peer mentorship. With several participants engaged, the camp created a collaborative environment that combined cultural education with community service. All proceeds were donated to Houston KidsVikas Meal Program, raising over $250 to support this local initiative. This effort highlighted the impact of youth-led service through the arts, demonstrating how music can both preserve tradition and give back to the community.

On Saturday, August 23rd, VTSeva Chicago volunteers joined together at Feed My Starving Children to help pack meals for those in need. We are deeply grateful for your time, dedication, and compassion in serving others. Thanks to your efforts, VTSeva successfully packed 11 full boxes! It was inspiring to see everyone’s teamwork and commitment toward making a difference.

On August 31st, 2025, a group of volunteers came together for the wonderful opportunity of wrapping books! A total of 25 books were wrapped with care, each one topped off with a summary  of the book placed on the back. All these books will be used for blind book fundraising at Farmers Market. Thanks to their teamwork and generosity, we were able to support more than 12,000 individuals in need! We are so grateful for everyone who joined us to make a difference. The VT Seva ATL Youth Club meeting held on September 5th was truly productive, inspiring, and energizing! 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟏𝟕 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐬, 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝟓 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬, 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐬, came together to share their ongoing activities and exciting plans for the next quarter. 𝐖𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝟐𝟐 𝐕𝐓 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐭𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚! 🎉🎉 It was 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲, 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐬𝐦, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞. Every youth club introduced their Executive Board members and highlighted three core strengths that make their club unique. 📶💪 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭. Youth leaders openly discussed their challenges, accomplishments, and upcoming initiatives, while receiving valuable feedback, encouragement, and ideas from one another. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐮𝐩 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. 👏 Overall, it was a constructive and empowering session, showcasing the values of leadership, teamwork, and service that lie at the heart of VT Seva! ✴️🌟✴️

On August 30, 2025, at Dhriti’s Mehndi Ceremony, youth volunteers Harini Thanabalan and Shivani Thanabalan brought their creativity to life through Henna for a Cause 🎨✨. With their beautiful designs, they raised $280, and all of the proceeds are being donated to Nethra Vidyalaya to support food and education for visually challenged children 🍎📚. The celebration was full of excitement 🎶💃🏽🍴 — colorful outfits, joyful dances, and heartfelt moments created an atmosphere of happiness and tradition. Amidst all the fun, Harini and Shivani were proud to give back to the community and spread positivity through their efforts ❤️. Dhriti and her sister were very kind, and overall, Harini and Shivani enjoyed this event a lot 🌸💖. It was truly a fun, meaningful, and inspiring weekend, showing how today’s youth can use their talents to make a difference 🌍✨.
