On Aug 13, VT Seva Detroit volunteers teamed up with Fleece & Thank You to do some service, preparing colorful fleece blankets to bring comfort and joy to children in hospitals across Michigan. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱: 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗥𝗮𝗴𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: By the end of the day, volunteers had helped prepare around 𝟭,𝟰𝟬𝟬-𝟭,𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀, 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗲 & 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗻. Volunteers took part in different stages of the process: 1. Sorting & Quality Checking – Inspecting blankets, retying loose strands, trimming edges, and ensuring each one met hospital standards. 2. Folding & Packaging – Neatly rolling blankets, wrapping them in protective plastic, and getting them ready for delivery. These are our wonderful volunteers who participated.

VT Seva ATL West Forsyth High School Youth Club held its first meeting of the year on August 13, 2025, at the school campus. During the session, 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐕𝐓 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐚, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫. 🌟🌟 Over 20 enthusiastic students joined the club, marking a strong and promising start to the year for the VTS Youth Clubs. Looking forward to an impactful year of service and leadership! ♥️✌️

VTS IAE board members created special welcome cards for the incoming freshmen! Each card was designed to share encouragement and positivity as they begin their journey at IAE. The freshmen expressed that they felt welcomed and happy to be part of such a warm and encouraging environment.

In the months of July and August, 15 VTSEVA Detroit Youth Board volunteers participated in making 5000+ FORGET ME NOT flowers for the veterans at DAV( Disabled American Veterans) DAV volunteer program. The FORGET ME NOT flower is meant to serve as a symbol of remembrance for servicemen and women and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We were able to make these in take home kits and make them on their own time. It was so rewarding to make these flowers knowing they were going towards a good cause!!

August 15th, 2025 VT Seva proudly organized a 5-day Table Tennis Camp (August 11–15) in Sammamish, WA, led by youth volunteer Saicharan Vellanki, where every serve helped uplift underprivileged and visually challenged children’s education. The camp brought together high-energy training, engaging matches, and fun while serving a greater purpose — public health and education equity. All proceeds from the event went directly toward supporting the education of underprivileged and visually challenged children through VT Seva’s initiatives. A heartfelt thank you to all the participants, volunteers, and families who supported this cause. Guided by VT Seva’s mission, your involvement turned sport into service — proving that together we can make a lasting difference.

Executed by youth leaders Sathkrith Segu and Saicharan Vellanki, VT Seva Seattle proudly hosted STEM Week 2025, a six-day virtual program that brought together 100+ people, including highly qualified mentors, students, and community members, to explore innovation in AI, healthcare, and the environment. Throughout the week, participants: Explored AI foundations and applications with Dr. Sudharshan Raghunathan. Understood how AI can be applied in the environment, specifically pollinators, by Sathkrith Segu. Learned about breast cancer breakthroughs from Dr. Robert Wieder. Discovered how quantum machine learning can transform breast cancer detection and treatment in a session led by Saicharan Vellanki. Concluded with a Youth Innovation Showcase featuring inspiring projects from young leaders, including Akshath and Avyukth, who presented their innovative STEM solutions. This event proved how youth-led initiatives can inspire, educate, and drive meaningful change, aligning with VT Seva’s pillars of Education, Healthcare, and Environment. A huge thank you to all our speakers, participants, and especially to Sathkrith and Saicharan for successfully executing this impactful program and showing the true power of youth leadership.

VTSeva volunteers prepare and deliver “Lunches With Love” to families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Each month, we pack 50 nutritious lunch bags to support families with children receiving medical care, offering comfort, care, and a little extra warmth during a difficult time.

“Beats for a Cause” is a VTSeva fundraising event led by youth volunteers, bringing together a diverse cultural community through music and performance. The event raises sponsorships to support the education of visually challenged students, empowering them with opportunities for academics, sports, and holistic development.

🎉 𝐕𝐓 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩 – 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 🎉 We had a fantastic Summer Camp Closing Ceremony on August 9th, celebrating the incredible achievements of our students, youth tutors, and mentors. 👏👏 🌟 𝐖𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞, 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭 𝐉𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐬. 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, 𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬. On 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, VT Seva Detroit hosted its 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, bringing the community together for an exciting day of sportsmanship and competition. The event was inspired by a spark of an idea from one of our dedicated Youth Volunteers, Tejas, which led to a thorough exploration of the possibility of organizing such the tournament last year and we were able to continue conducting the event this year as well. With the exceptional support from our volunteers, sponsors, supporters and the enthusiasm and cooperation of the players made this event truly memorable. With all the funds raised from the event, we were able to 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝟒 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 of Nethra Vidyalaya school. We had 24 participants organized into 8 teams. The tournament showcased impressive talent and enthusiasm, with players demonstrating their skills and passion for the game.

VT Seva Detroit , in collaboration with Hindu Swayam Sevak Sangh , SVTCC , and DTF , celebrated 𝐑𝐚𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐧 at the 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐢 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 on 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐀𝐮𝐠 𝟗𝐭𝐡, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 , as part of 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲. This heartfelt initiative expressed gratitude and unity, as our youth and adult volunteers tied Rakhis to Novi’s police and fire personnel, honoring their dedication to safeguarding our community.

Kudos to Parnavee for successfully leading the Summer Buddies Reading Camp for over four weeks! The sessions were filled with reading, storytelling, discovery, and plenty of laughter. Through this camp, Parnavee also raised funds to support the education of visually challenged children. The program helped students strengthen their comprehension skills and grow into more confident, enthusiastic readers.

Nitish, our Prajna alumnus and VT Seva youth leader, did a wonderful job organizing a fundraiser to support the education of visually challenged children. This week, Nitish coached kids of various age groups on tennis fundamentals, with support from Prajna alumnus Rshi.
