VT Seva Seattle UTSAV 2025 - Annual Fundraiser
Join us for Utsav 2025, our annual fundraiser celebrating empathy and resilience. Together, we support Jeeyar Gurukulam and Nethra Vidyalaya, schools that provide free education and boarding to visually challenged and underprivileged children in India. From a handful of tribal Thandas to nearly 25 villages today, this effort has created lasting generational change—thanks to your continued generosity.

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝: Sraya Ved Impact: With our help, Fleece & Thank you could quality check 533 blankets, which will be distributed to children in hospitals to support them during their long-term illness. This was a very fulfilling experience for all our volunteers in this event & everyone worked together to quality check these blankets to distribute to children in hospitals all over Michigan.

VTS Det - Troy High VTS Club - Greeting Cards for Seniors

Troy High VTS members came together on May 27 to create handmade cards for the residents of the Brookdale Senior Center. Each card was filled with warm wishes for a joyful summer and heartfelt messages. Once the cards were complete, we personally delivered them to Brookdale. Seeing the residents' faces light up as they read our messages was incredibly rewarding. Their happiness and gratitude made the experience truly special for all of us.

On Sunday, June 1, 2025, VT Seva Cary partnered with Buddies@Asha for another enriching Best Buddies session at the Asha Foundation. This event brought together our dedicated youth volunteers and children with special needs for a day filled with inclusion, creativity, and joy. Volunteers paired up with the children to engage in a variety of activities—ranging from energetic games like cricket and soccer to arts and crafts and board games. These moments of play and collaboration created an atmosphere of acceptance and belonging, where every child felt valued and celebrated. Our youth volunteers demonstrated compassion, patience, and leadership, helping foster friendships and emotional enrichment for all participants. Through these interactions, both the children and volunteers experienced the power of connection and the beauty of diversity. VT Seva Cary is proud to continue this meaningful partnership with Buddies@Asha, proving that service is not just about one day—it’s about building lasting relationships and creating spaces where every child can thrive. Together, we are nurturing inclusion, joy, and friendship—one session at a time.

Durham Rescue Mission

VT Seva Cary hosted a volunteering event at the Durham Rescue Mission, North Carolina’s oldest and largest non-profit homeless shelter, which provides food, clothing, supportive housing, vocational training, and education to individuals experiencing homelessness. Our volunteers assisted at the men’s campus by serving meals and helping with additional duties, contributing to the mission’s efforts to create a welcoming environment and uplift lives. VT Seva Cary is proud to support this impactful cause and remains committed to serving the community with compassion and care.

Alameda Community Food Bank Volunteering

As part of our commitment to serving the community, VTSEVA volunteers participated in a rewarding food sorting event at the Alameda County Community Food Bank, where we joined others in packing food for individuals and families in need. With dedication and teamwork, we helped sort an incredible 35,178 pounds of food—equivalent to 29,198 meals—with a Meals Per Volunteer (MPV) rate of 216. It was a fun, meaningful experience that brought us together for a greater cause, and we’re proud to have made a positive impact by supporting the fight against hunger in our local community.

On Jun 6th, VTSeva Chicago volunteers came together for a group bonding event. It was a great opportunity to spend time and get to know each other better. Volunteers played lot of collaborated games and had great fun. After the games, volunteers discussed various volunteer activities they can plan for serving the community. They decided together they can create a better volunteering experience for everyone. They enjoyed their time together with many games, snacks, and fun!

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝: Sai Sahasra 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭: our volunteers were able to pack 𝟏𝟓𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐩𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬 of produce, fruits & food items that would be distributed to various metro Detroit food pantries & homeless shelters, thus serving the underprivileged people in need!!

🎨 Atlanta VT Seva Youth Art Project – June 7th & 8th, 2025 - Highlights 🌿 On June 7th and 8th, the Atlanta VT Seva youth came together for a vibrant weekend of creative expression and environmental awareness. The group designed and painted eco-friendly fabric bags, customized notebook covers, and worked on unique laser-engraved art projects. This talented and thoughtful group of young adults used their artwork to promote the 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. One standout initiative involved repurposing used notebooks by transforming them into new ones, each adorned with beautifully hand-decorated covers themed around environmental protection. 🌱📓 From artistic rangoli patterns to custom coasters, bags, and more, the event was a wonderful display of teamwork, creativity, and purpose. It was heartwarming to see both youths and adults fully engaged, having fun while contributing to a meaningful cause!

Troy IAE VTS club came together last week to make special Father’s Day cards for senior citizens in our community homes. It was heartwarming to gather as a group to recognize and honor fathers and father figures, especially those who may not always get the love and appreciation they deserve. Through our handmade cards, we hope to spread kindness and brighten the days of these important members of our community. Thank you to everyone who participated—your thoughtful cards will surely bring smiles and joy to many!

VTS Detroit - IAE Club - DAV Flower Making Event

Over the past 2-3 months, the IAE VTS Club has been working towards appreciating Disabled American Veterans through the DAV Flowers for Good Project. Together with WIHI, Troy High, North Farmington, and IAE, we created 1250 handmade flowers each using equal materials to ultimately create 5000 handmade blue-forget-me-not flowers. All in support of DAV (Disabled American Veterans). These flowers weren’t just crafts—they were symbols of gratitude. Each one is a thank-you to the veterans who’ve served us with courage and sacrifice.

VTS DET New Volunteer Meet N Greet & Police Appreciation Card Making

On June 1st, 2025, for the very first time, VTSEVA Detroit Youth Board leadership team organized a "New Volunteer Meet N Greet & Police Appreciation Card Making"event at the Farmington Library. 21 of our Youth Board members participated in the event with their friends to give them an opportunity to learn about VTSEVA, its mission, services and accomplishments by your amazing Detroit volunteers, both locally and internationally. A total of 10 new youth joined our team and together with 20 of our current Youth Board members they made about 74 appreciation cards for the Novi Police department. These cards will be presented to them during our annual visit on Police Appreciation Day on 20th Sep 2025.
