VT Seva Chicago - Water treatment plant tour

Location:

Chicago

April 3, 2026 at 5:00:00 AM

VT Seva Chicago conducted waste water treatment plant tour on 04/03/26 with 11 volunteers participating. We visited the plant in Deerfield. We got a "behind-the-scenes" look at how our waste water goes from raw intake to crystal clear. It was such an interesting and eye-opening tour about what it takes to treat water that we consume and waste every day and the resources it takes to run the facility and amount of water that's treated each day. Supervisor there, guided the tour of the facility. He explained the full process very well and answered all of our questions clearly. It was amazing to see how waste water becomes clean water again. He also gave us the tour of their lab and went over more of the technical details. This tour did leave an impact on each one of us about how much water gets wasted every day and how many resources are needed to clean it again!!! Thanks everyone who were able to join the tour and get educated about water!

Seeds of Compassion: Good Friday Fundraising Drive

Location:

North Jersey

April 3, 2026 at 4:00:00 AM

On a day traditionally marked by reflection and sacrifice, the VT Seva North Jersey volunteers turned their devotion into action. Our team organized a grassroots canning drive, stepping out into the community with a simple goal: to be a voice for the women and children supported by Project Mamatha. There is a quiet beauty in "canning"—it is one of the most humble forms of service. It requires our volunteers to stand for hours, to speak with strangers, and to gracefully accept every contribution, no matter how small. Our youth and adult volunteers did this not for recognition, but out of a deep-seated passion to make a difference. Every conversation held at a storefront and every dollar placed in a green can was a testament to the fact that when we serve with a humble heart, the community responds with overwhelming kindness. Inspirational Reflection "We believe that true service doesn't always happen on a stage; often, it happens on a sidewalk, one smile at a time. By giving up their holiday to stand for a cause, our North Jersey volunteers showed that Seva (Service) is not just what we do—it is who we are. We are incredibly grateful to the residents of Parsippany and beyond who stopped to listen, to learn, and to give. Together, we are building a legacy of care that will shine through the Mamatha 2026 event and beyond."

UTSAV - Seattle Annual Event

Location:

Seattle

March 29, 2026 at 7:00:00 AM

Jai Srimannarayana! With our Acharya's blessings and all your well wishes, we conducted our annual event - UTSAV on March 29th. We had more than 200 donors who attended the celebrations! We broke many of the first times with this event. The whole event was completely organized and run by youth volunteers under the guidance of Santhi garu, Kiran garu and all the Seattle EB! Youth volunteers highlighted all the great work they are doing within the local community. We had representatives from Sound Foundations NW who were the special guests for the night. This is the same organization where we were fortunate to support building 4 Tiny Homes so far through our Unity Cup cricket tournament we conduct every summer. On the global front, volunteers talked about their own personal journey including summer internships and highlighted all the 2025 achievements of Nethra and Jeeyar Gurukulam kids! It was wonderful to see kids reflect on their own personal journey through all this years in VT Seva and how they are able to connect to the impact they are creating locally and globally. Also for the first time, we created a web app specific to this event. Photos and Reactions feature were the big hit! You can see the app in action here: https://utsav-eight.vercel.app/. Event though, we typically don't do any fundraising at this donor appreciation event, some of the donors pledged through the app! Thank you!
