Our volunteers split into two groups, each taking on important behind-the-scenes task to help bring comfort and hope to children facing hospital stays. One group dove into 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠✔️𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬, making sure each one was soft and secured with love. Over 30+ blankets were carefully inspected—each one receiving the time, attention, and care it deserves before it reaches the arms of a child. Meanwhile, the second group took on the 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝟏𝟐 𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬, transforming the storage space into an efficient and spotless system ready to support ongoing efforts.

Alameda County Food Bank volunteering

VTSEVA volunteers recently participated in a community service project at the Alameda County Community Food Bank, an organization that distributes essential food supplies to families and individuals across the region. During the event, our volunteers worked alongside members from several other local organizations to sort, package, and organize food items into bags, preparing them for distribution. Through teamwork, efficiency, and dedication, we were able to pack a significant amount of food and meals, helping to support those facing food insecurity. It was a meaningful opportunity for our volunteers to give back, connect with the broader community, and contribute to a cause that makes a real difference in people's lives.

Beautify San Jose Volunteering

vtsbayarea VTSEVA volunteers joined forces with Mayor Matt Mahan to contribute to his project aimed at beautifying the city of San Jose, taking part in hands-on efforts to enhance the community’s appearance and environment. As part of this initiative, the volunteers worked diligently to paint electrical boxes along the streets, transforming them from plain utility fixtures into visually appealing elements that add vibrancy to the city’s landscape. In addition to this artistic contribution, they also rolled up their sleeves to remove overgrown weeds, helping to create cleaner, more welcoming public spaces for residents and visitors alike. Through their dedication and teamwork, the VTSEVA volunteers not only supported Mayor Mahan’s vision for a more beautiful San Jose but also demonstrated their own commitment to civic engagement and environmental stewardship, leaving a lasting positive impact on the community.

Hearts for Heroes – Sammamish Police Department

Today our VT Seva volunteers visited the Sammamish Police Department to present our Hearts for Heroes mementos and tie bracelets as a token of gratitude. The officers graciously gave us a full tour — from the holding cell and wellness rooms to trying on police gear and even sitting inside a patrol car! 🚓 They spoke with our volunteers about their jobs, shared advice, and appreciated our efforts to connect. One special moment came from a Sergeant who said he keeps 3 bracelets from VT Seva hanging in his patrol car — a reminder of the bonds we’ve built. ❤️ 🙏 Thank you to our amazing youth — Hemanth, Akshara, Avyukth, Achuth, Sathkrith, Shreya, Saaketh, Pranavn, Nihaal, Jay, Laya, Sai and our youngest volunteer Sragvi — for making this day so meaningful. We hope to continue this tradition for years to come, building bridges with those who protect and serve our community.

VT Seva Maryland, in collaboration with the American Red Cross, hosted a successful blood drive at the Landsdale Clubhouse on August 16, 2025. The event saw 34 individuals register, with 25 generous donors contributing blood, potentially saving up to 75 lives. Led by Youth Leader Mahati Konduri, the event showcased exceptional dedication and community spirit. VT Seva Maryland extends gratitude to the American Red Cross team, volunteers, and donors who made this event possible.

As the meeting took place just a day after India’s Independence Day 🇮🇳, the youth marked the occasion by singing the 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 🎶, filling the atmosphere with patriotic spirit. The kick-off meeting saw the participation of more than 𝟒𝟎 enthusiastic students and adults 👩🎓👨🎓, who came together to plan and finalize the details for the upcoming event on September 21st 📅. Their energy, dedication, and teamwork were truly commendable 💪✨. We are excited to witness their hard work come to life on stage 🎭 and look forward to a memorable celebration on our big day! 🎉

🌸 𝐇𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 🌸 At Freedom Mela 2025 on Aug 15th, youth volunteers Shivani and Harini brought their creativity to life through Henna for a Cause 🎨 ✨ 𝑾𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒔, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒅 $64,, and all of the proceeds are being donated to Nethra Vidyalaya to support food and education for visually challenged children 🍎📚. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁🎶💃🍴 — vibrant music, cultural dances, and delicious food created an atmosphere of joy and celebration. Amidst all the fun, Shivani and Harini were proud to give back to the community and spread positivity through their efforts ❤. Total funds raised by the sisters is approx $1000 for the noble cause! This heartfelt gesture was our way of thanking them for their dedication and service to the community. 🚓💙 A special thank you to Sushruta, Pranav, Arnav, Akshaya, Ramya, and our youngest volunteer Sragvi for leading with creativity and compassion in our very first Hearts for Heroes event at Mill Creek PD. 🙌✨ We’re also grateful to the parents who made time to bring their kids on a weekday — your support made this possible! Together, we handed over the beautiful creations our volunteers made and expressed our gratitude. It was truly meaningful to celebrate Independence Day by building bridges across our community and honoring our local heroes. ❤️🤝

𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗵𝘂 𝗡𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶, 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗩𝗧 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗔𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮. She extended heartfelt greetings to all attendees. Her kind and compassionate words set an uplifting and inclusive tone for the session. ✨ Mr. Corey then addressed the gathering, expressing deep appreciation for the ongoing collaboration between VT Seva and Laurel Heights. He invited Dr. Okeleji to share his personal and professional journey - from medical school through residency to his current role at Laurel Heights. Dr. Okeleji offered valuable insights into his career in the medical field and thoughtfully answered questions from the Atlanta youth, inspiring many with his reflections on the challenges and opportunities in this profession. 🌟 𝗔 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 💫✴ Both groups exchanged friendly and engaging questions, sparking moments of laughter and joy. He demonstrated fundamental moves and practiced them alongside the special needs students, who participated with great enthusiasm. Their eagerness to learn and curiosity stood out as they actively engaged and asked questions.🙋♀ The workshop concluded with a lively and inclusive 𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝑨𝒕𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒂 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉, 𝑨𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒗 𝑮𝒐𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒚. On Aug 13, VT Seva Detroit volunteers teamed up with Fleece & Thank You to do some service, preparing colorful fleece blankets to bring comfort and joy to children in hospitals across Michigan. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱: 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗥𝗮𝗴𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: By the end of the day, volunteers had helped prepare around 𝟭,𝟰𝟬𝟬-𝟭,𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀, 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗲 & 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗻. Volunteers took part in different stages of the process: 1. Sorting & Quality Checking – Inspecting blankets, retying loose strands, trimming edges, and ensuring each one met hospital standards. 2. Folding & Packaging – Neatly rolling blankets, wrapping them in protective plastic, and getting them ready for delivery. These are our wonderful volunteers who participated.
