Chicago - Feed My Starving Children
On Saturday, Dec 20th, 2025 VTSeva Chicago volunteers packed food for those in need at Feed My Starving Children! Together, with many other volunteers, we packed a total of 194 boxes (our group 21 boxes ) which will be sent to Haiti! We also had few of the volunteers helping out with ware house activities. Thanks to Ashita,Sahithi, Ananya, Akshith, Ishani, Kiva, Inara and other adult volunteers for volunteering with us!

Prairie workday
Chicago volunteers had a wonderful time at the Buffalo Grove Prairie Workday event! Everyone worked hard to make it a success, and it was amazing to see the effort and interest put in to sift the seeds through the screens to produce pure seeds. These seeds will be planted in spring at various locations. A big thank you to all the dedicated volunteers for their time and energy—you made the environment better!

Chicago - Youth bonding event
Thank you everyone for making our VTSeva Chicago bonding event On Nov 15th! We had so much fun with all of you , getting to know each other, playing all sorts of games and celebrating award ceremony for 2024 president awards and 2025 volunteers. We hope to do more of these in the future to enhance our community and create a stronger team! Together we can make a difference! Congratulations to everyone!! For those who missed this one, I would love to see you all for the next one. Also, a big thanks to Culvers for sponsoring food for this event! They are a great supporter for VTSeva !

Chicago - Feed My Starving Children
On Saturday, Nov 8th, VTSeva Chicago volunteers joined together at Feed My Starving Children to help pack meals for those in need. We are deeply grateful for your time, dedication, and compassion in serving others. Thanks to your efforts, VTSeva successfully packed boxes for shipping to Haiti! It was inspiring to see everyone’s teamwork and commitment toward making a difference.

Community threads - thrift store
On November 1st, a group of volunteers from Chicago branch participated in an opportunity at the Community Threads Thrift store. Together, we were able to pack 7 bags of clothing and tag new clothes in preparation for the Christmas season. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and effort — your contribution helped make a positive impact in our community!

VT Seva Chicago - Felt wall enrichment boards for animal shelters
Volunteers had a wonderful time at our Cat Scratch Board event! Everyone worked hard to make it a success, and it was amazing to see the teamwork and effort put in to help support the animals. A big thank you to all the dedicated volunteers for your time and energy—you made this event possible!

Chicago's adopt-a-highway fall cleanup
Thanks to everyone for participating in adopt-a-highway cleanup. Fortunately weather was also cooperating , we were able to make a meaningful impact on our local environment. Your commitment to seva (selfless service) continues to make a difference. Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated!! Kudos to you all!!

Northern Illinois Food Bank
VTSeva Chicago volunteers went to Northern Illinois Food Bank to pack potatoes! During this activity, we even added a personal touch by packing a few heart-shaped potatoes, sending our love to those in need. This session was a unique experience for us as we all played a part to make a positive impact on someone’s life!

Chicago - Origami Tulip Bouquets for hospital staff
A group of volunteers from Chicago came together to show appreciation for our everyday heroes — the doctors who work tirelessly to keep us healthy and safe. With creativity, care, and a whole lot of heart, handcrafted beautiful origami flowers as a small token of gratitude. Thank you to our amazing volunteers for turning paper into petals, and appreciation into art. You truly made a difference!

Chicago - Posters making for presenting at Green Fair
On Sunday, September 14, a group of volunteers came together in a youth center to make trifold for green fair. These trifles included habits that better fit the environment, like waste materials, and waste management rules. These posters will be presented at Green Fair . Visitors will be encouraged to change small habits which can have bigger impact on the environment.

Chicago - Green Fair participation
Thank you to everyone who volunteered at the Green Fair! We had a great time sharing simple ways to protect the environment, like turning off lights and fans when not in use and taking shorter showers. We also helped raise awareness about which items shouldn't go in the trash or recycling bins. Wonderful work by all, thanks again for being part of it!

Chicago - Sandwiches for food pantries
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, a group of volunteers came together to prepare peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for our community. In total, we made 50 sandwiches and packed them into bags with other treats, creating thoughtful care packages to share. We are so grateful to everyone who joined us and gave their time to make this event a success. Your contribution truly made a difference!

Chicago - Farmer's market fundraising
VT Seva Chicago volunteers manned a booth a Farmer's market for Nethra schools fund raising. Handmade book marks & beautifully wrapped books were used for raising funds for the schools & local food pantry
