Join VT Seva Austin

VTSeva Austin adopted a park and has been cleaning for a year. Not just the community benefited by the cleanup, our volunteers got a chance to explore different habitats of the park.Learnt about different interesting plants that grows. Kids every visit enjoyed playing with "Touch me NOT" plant while cleaning the park to let enjoy the community peacefully.

Austin VTSeva conducted a Walk for her- Walkathon event on Apr 1st 2023. This event is to encourage women and family be aware of the breast cancer and take in charge of health .

"When women is healthy, society and country flourishes" VTSeva Austin 5K for Breast cancer awareness walk. It was wonderful seeing the community Youth, men, and women all running for one cause to keep HER healthy.

VTSeva Austin is getting ready for the 5K event in Apr 1st supporting the “Breast cancer awareness and women health” Our young and youth volunteers met for the pot painting activities to fundraise for the cause by donating plants back to the community for supporting “cancer awareness camps”

Austin VTSeva conducted an eye glass drive and donated about 250 gently used eye glasses to lions club .

VTSeva Austin has conducted the first hatha yoga session on Feb 4th to promote women and family health practicing Hatha yoga. Yoga session was led by yoga guru Padmaja Bandreddi a disciple in the tradition of Sri Krishnamacharya-Father of modern yoga. Taking Small step, one at a time and sticking to 5mins practice everyday to create the routine is the key for successful yoga practice and good health.

VTSeav Austin -Seeds for tomorrow for education and environment has conducted a 5K run and walk to support Saksham trust and Austin parks foundation.

On July 6th VTSeva Austin youth had an opportunity to meet and greet the police officers with an appreciation lunch to the entire team of 50- RRPD from VTSeva

Prajna Austin and VTSeva Austin are serving lunches every month at the Ronald McDonald House to families of patients undergoing treatment at Dell Children’s and other hospitals in the Austin area. This is a monthly event that has been taking place since November 2021. While Prajna Children (ages 5-11) donate the materials, the VTSeva youth (ages 12+) make PB&J sandwiches and pack them into bags along with fruits, chips, granola bars, desserts, and water bottles. 50 Lunches are provided every month with this initiative. All this is done with gratitude, love, and care for the community.

VTSeva Austin youth comes together to support the visually challenged and protect the environment by growing plants and fundraising. As part of the seeds for tomorrow, the youth board has taken up the challenge of not just growing plants themselves but encouraging the young kids to grow their own vegetable garden using the garden kits.

Education for the blind and underprivileged is one of the major service pillars of VT Seva. Through the Hikes for a Cause fundraiser, we are fundraising for the Nethra Vidyalaya and are improving our own health at the same time. These hikes are every Sunday, every week of the summer and are on different trails each week and are for only one dollar. Our first hike was held on June 5th 2022, where we explored the Great hills park trail and saw many sights, and got back to nature during our Sunday morning.

Austin ISD VICTORY program is designed for tutoring students in need of individual attention with their homework.VTSeva Austin volunteers have been tutoring kids 1:1 for the last 6 months with a minimum of 1 hr every week commitment from each volunteer. The program will resume again in August and continue for the whole academic year 2022-2023.

VTSeva Austin initiated a Adapt a park last month on March 26th. Youth and Adult volunteers have cleaned up the park by picking the trash and racking the leaves. This will be a monthly event. Please

Early college High School VTSeva Club volunteers have conducted a community get together by Baking and making Savory snacks together to support the Ukraine families in need. Around 15 youth volunteers have gathers and baked the sweets. All community connected for the single cause and raised funds of about $2000.
