Earth Day

VT Seva Earth Day Tree Planting Drive

Let’s make history together! All VT Seva branches are coming together to plant 2,026+ trees in 2026 as part of our Earth Day initiative. This is the first combined tree planting event.

We will provide Free tree saplings for children! All registered children will receive Certificate of Recognition and service hours for their participation along with free tree sapling.

VTS Det - Troy High VTS Club - DAV Flower Making Event 1

On April 7, Troy High VTS Club members from Troy High School came together to honor Disabled American Veterans (DAV) by handcrafting small tribute flowers. Their effort was a gesture of appreciation for the brave service and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans.

𝐕𝐓 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐭 April 5th, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 – 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝: 𝐕𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐮 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭: More than 500 Detroit families were supported through our efforts. On April 5th, 2025, both youth and adult volunteers came together for a volunteering event at Destined for Greatness. We sorted clothing that will be distributed to those in need on April 16th. This effort wasn’t just about organizing clothes—it was about preparing a space for healing and support.

𝐕𝐓 𝐒𝐄𝐕𝐀 𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐈𝐓 𝐀𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐋 𝟒𝐭𝐡, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐃𝐀𝐕 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐉𝐄𝐂𝐓

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝: 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐯 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥 IMPACT: Our volunteers made over 5000 forget me not flowers to give to our veterans. Forget Me Not National Day is on November 10th in the USA & it is a special day that reminds us to honor and support veterans who have returned from service with injuries and disabilities. During this forget me not flower making activity, our youth volunteers we exhibited great team work & it was a fun team building experience as well working together & accomplishing the goal.

WIHI VTS club made High School senior care packages for the graduating class of 2025! each of these packages had an assortment of items, including playdoh, hershey kisses, gum, a squishy fidget, sticky note tabs, and a heartfelt note of congratulations and goodluck

VTS Det - IAE VTS Club - DAV Flower Making Event

During this event, we created the forget-me-not flower as a symbol of remembrance and support towards veterans suffering from disabilities. To make them complete, we attached these flowers to notecards!

VTS Detroit - NFHS Club - DAV flower making event

On April 2nd and 9th, VTS members gathered after school to create “forget-me-not” flower crafts to honor and remember disabled American veterans! This small act of appreciation was a heartfelt way to show our respect and gratitude to those who served, and we’re proud to have contributed to such a meaningful cause!!

VT Seva Detroit Youth Board Books & Toys Drive

In March 2025, *VTSEVA Detroit Youth Board* , in collaboration with Brilliant Detroit hosted a Used Book & Toy Drive. Thanks to the generosity of 44 youth board members, we collected 343 books and 72 toys, which will bring joy, learning, and comfort to children and families in need and keep these items out of landfills.

Detroit - WIHI VTS Club - Teen Mental Wellness Event

Mental health is a vital part of the human experience, especially for teenagers navigating the challenges of school and life. Recognizing the importance of mental well-being, the VTS Club at North Farmington High School has taken a meaningful step in promoting Teen Mental Health Awareness.

To encourage mindfulness, self-care, and seeking help when needed, the club has created an impactful poster showcasing practical ways to improve mental health. Our club members hung these posters in various places in the school. These reminders serve as daily encouragement, helping students prioritize their well-being.

𝗩𝗧 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗶𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 Forgotten Harvest Volunteering

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱: 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗥𝗮𝗴𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: With our help, Forgotten Harvest was able to pack 10,874 pounds of chocolate to distribute across Metro Detroit Food pantries, churches, schools. Our VT Seva Detroit volunteers had the amazing opportunity to spend the day volunteering at Forgotten Harvest, an organization that helps fight hunger. We worked together to pack, seal, and label bags of chocolate, each weighing about 2 pounds.

𝐕𝐓 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐭: 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐇 𝟐𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐨 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐬 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲.

Group of 7 youth volunteers from Kalamazoo region, Michigan took part in this 1st service activity to help Twelve baskets, a local food party in Kalamazoo. Together, they all collected 275 bags & donated to the food pantry.These bags will help them to pack groceries to all the families in need during food distribution.

𝐕𝐓 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐭 𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐏 𝟑, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟏𝟒 𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐁 & 𝐆𝐎 𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐞 & 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝: 𝐀𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐚 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 : 11 youth volunteers worked together to finish quality checks & fixed over 85 fleece blankets. These will be distributed to metro Detroit Children's hospitals. During this fantastic project, youth took home blanket bags and provided a quality check at home using the guidelines given by Fleece & Thank You. They performed tasks such cutting and retying stands as necessary, noting if any tags or codes were missing, and placing blankets in separate bags based on their quality. They made sure the blankets were in great quality! These blankets were dropped back off at Fleece & Thank you to be later distributed to different children’s hospitals.

𝐕𝐓 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐭 successfully conducted a food drive & fundraiser at the Kroger Store in Novi, MI, in support of 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐆𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐀𝐧𝐧 𝐀𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐫 . With open non profit solicitation permitted by the store, our dedicated volunteers collected 𝟗𝟑𝟏 𝐥𝐛𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 (𝟐𝟕 𝐛𝐨𝐱𝐞𝐬) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 $𝟏,𝟐𝟏𝟒 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 , translating to 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟑,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬 for underserved families in the region. A heartfelt thank you to 𝐌𝐫. 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐲 , philanthropist and Board Member of Wayne State University, for his generous matching donation, and to the many kind Kroger customers who contributed between 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM. Despite chilly outdoor conditions on March 24th our volunteers stood strong and engaged shoppers throughout the day, requesting donations of canned goods, packaged food, and other essentials. The response was truly heartwarming. We are incredibly grateful to Kroger Novi Store Manager Mike, who has supported VT Seva’s efforts year after year by welcoming us into his store and encouraging our mission of service.

VTS DET YB 2025 Brilliant Detroit In-person Event

On *22 Mar 2025, VTSEVA Detroit Youth Board* volunteered with *Brilliant Detroit* at their *Littlefield Hub Organizing & Redesign center*. We worked together to help organize these donations of diapers, built furniture, organized toys/clothes, helped label boxes, organized bookshelves and organized the playroom.

VTS Detroit 8th Annual Public Speaking Event

VT Seva Detroit collaborated with Speech Showdown and conducted the 8th annual public speaking workshop and competition successfully. Many students benefitted through this workshop and got the life skill. All the funds raised from this event was donated to Nethra students education

VT Seva Detroit - Troy IAE & Troy High VTS Club: Math Kangaroo Competition

3/20 marked a fantastic collaboration between Troy IAE and the Troy High VTS Club as our volunteers came together to support the Math Kangaroo Competition! This partnership made the event smooth and successful, with volunteers setting up testing materials, managing the registration desk, proctoring the exam, and assisting students with last-minute questions.
