In the month of September, VTSEVA Detroit Youth Board did an Essential Workers Appreciation project. The Essential Worker Appreciation Project was a meaningful initiative that engaged youth participants in creating personalized cards and small gifts to thank essential workers such as mail carriers, nurses, janitors, and grocery staff. The combined efforts of the youth worked to make this project a success. The photos capturing the hand-off between our youth and the workers shows the gratitude shared between participants and workers, showing how small gestures of kindness can create a powerful impact and spread positivity throughout our community.!

These rolls are placed into cleaning and outdoor buckets that are distributed to families when disaster strikes. In addition, the group created over 5 large buckets of plarn (plastic yarn) using recycled grocery bags. This plarn will later be crocheted into durable, reusable bags that serve as a practical resource for survivors during recovery.
