Volunteering @Run at Peak
VT Seva Cary – Run the Peak (March 8, 2025) On March 8th, VT Seva Cary volunteers supported a vibrant community event organized by the Apex Chamber of Commerce. The event, known as Run the Peak, featured 5K and 10K races with scenic routes winding through many historic areas of Apex. Our team of 4 youth volunteers and 1 adult volunteer played a vital role in ensuring participants stayed hydrated throughout their run. With cheerful smiles and encouraging words, they handed out water and boosted the spirits of runners as they pushed through the course. 💙 Beyond hydration, our volunteers contributed to the welcoming atmosphere of the event—showing that even small acts of service can make a big difference in the success of a community gathering. Their presence reflected VT Seva Cary’s commitment to supporting local initiatives, fostering wellness, and building stronger community connections. This collaboration with the Apex Chamber of Commerce not only highlighted the importance of volunteerism in community events but also gave our youth a chance to experience teamwork, responsibility, and the joy of serving in a lively public setting

Food Bank, Raleigh
VT Seva Cary – Food Bank Raleigh Service (March 1, 2025) On Saturday, March 1st, VT Seva Cary had the opportunity to serve at the Food Bank of Raleigh, where volunteers helped sort and organize food that was later distributed to countless individuals, families, and communities across our region. This effort ensured that nutritious meals reached those in need, reinforcing our commitment to fighting hunger and supporting dignity through service. Thanks to the everlasting support of 16 youth volunteers and 1 adult volunteer, we had another successful and impactful day at the Food Bank. Together, our team worked with energy, compassion, and teamwork—demonstrating how small acts of service can ripple out to touch thousands of lives. 💙 Beyond the immediate impact, this event also gave our youth volunteers a chance to experience the importance of food security, learn about the logistics behind community support, and strengthen their leadership through hands‑on service. We are grateful to our volunteers for their dedication and look forward to continuing this partnership with the Food Bank Raleigh, ensuring that hope and nourishment reach every home in need

Youth Meet
VT Seva Cary – Monthly Volunteer Meeting (February 2025) While not an official volunteering event, VT Seva Cary volunteers came together for our monthly meeting to learn more about VT Seva’s mission and impact. This gathering provided a meaningful opportunity for new and returning volunteers to understand how service initiatives are started, how to integrate themselves into our community’s volunteer network, and how each individual can contribute to creating lasting change. Beyond learning, the meeting was filled with joy and connection. Volunteers participated in interactive games and team‑building activities that helped them get to know one another, strengthen bonds, and build a spirit of collaboration. The atmosphere was one of enthusiasm, curiosity, and shared purpose. For the month of February, 55 youth volunteers participated in this meeting, making it a vibrant and inspiring start to the year. This gathering not only deepened awareness of VT Seva’s vision but also inspired volunteers to take initiative, develop leadership skills, and explore creative ways to serve. By combining education with fun, we strengthened the foundation of our volunteer family and set the stage for impactful service in the months ahead.

Amy of Sunshine-Be Strong Cards To Bone Marrow Patients
VT Seva Cary – Partnership with Amy’s Ray of Sunshine (March 2025) As a way to support bone marrow patients, VT Seva Cary partnered with Amy’s Ray of Sunshine, an organization dedicated to collecting and delivering cards to bone marrow patients across the USA. Through this heartfelt initiative, our youth volunteers had the opportunity to create 100 beautiful handmade cards and bracelets, each filled with messages of love, courage, and hope. These creations will be distributed to bone marrow patients nationwide, offering encouragement during their treatment journeys and reminding them that they are not alone. The cards and bracelets serve as small but powerful tokens of compassion—bringing smiles, strength, and emotional comfort to those facing challenging times. 💙 This event not only uplifted patients but also gave our youth volunteers a chance to reflect on the importance of empathy, creativity, and service. By channeling their energy into something so meaningful, they learned how even simple acts of kindness can have a profound impact. We hope to continue this opportunity in the future, expanding our reach and touching more lives through the power of service and connection

Best Buddies Event
VT Seva Cary – Best Buddies Sessions (February 2025) On February 2nd, VT Seva Cary volunteers joined a Best Buddies session at the Asha Foundation, where they engaged in inclusive play with children with special needs. Through activities like cricket, soccer, and board games, volunteers created a joyful and accepting environment. The event strengthened bonds and provided emotional enrichment for both the children and the youth participants, fostering a spirit of inclusion and friendship. Continuing this momentum, on February 16th, volunteers returned for another Best Buddies session. This time, the focus was on building deeper connections through creative and interactive activities. Volunteers participated in arts and crafts, storytelling, and collaborative games that encouraged self‑expression and teamwork. The children experienced not only fun but also a sense of belonging, while youth volunteers gained valuable lessons in empathy, patience, and leadership. Together, these sessions highlighted the power of consistent engagement—showing that service is not just about one day, but about building lasting relationships and creating spaces where every child feels valued and celebrated.

Volunteering @ Durham Rescue Mission
✨ Spreading warmth, dignity, and hope ✨ This February on - 2/1/2025, 2/8/2025 & 2/22/2025, VT Seva Cary volunteers came together at the Durham Rescue Mission to serve lunch and share compassion with our neighbors experiencing homelessness. With 30 volunteers, including 6 dedicated adults, we offered not just meals but kindness, dignity, and comfort. 💙 Moments like these remind us that service is more than action—it’s community, care, and connection. We’re excited to continue this journey and see even more hearts join us in making a difference!

Adopt a Highway
On January 5th, VT Seva Cary organized its quarterly Adopt a Highway cleanup along Green Level Church Road between Morrisville Parkway and the Carpenter Fire Station road Intersection. Volunteers collected litter and debris from the roadside, reinforcing our long-term commitment to environmental responsibility. Their efforts visibly improved the area’s appearance and contributed to a cleaner, safer community space. Adopt A Highway is an event that VT SEVA Cary has taken up every quarter for the past 5 years. Our 12 youth volunteers and 2 adult volunteers did a wonderful job of carefully picking up trash and litter in the area, and contributing to the cleanliness of our community!

Volunteering @ RADHA KRISHNA MANDIR
VT Seva Cary volunteers at the Radha Krishna Temple of NC on August 25th (Sunday) . participated in different activities in helping on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami event at the temple which volunteers will be helping out . On the auspicious occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, 24 dedicated VT Seva volunteers enthusiastically participated in various activities at the Radha Krishna Mandir. Our volunteers contributed their time and effort to assist with multiple activities. This heartfelt service was a reflection of the volunteers' commitment to giving back to the community

PAST EVENT
DAV Flowers
The DAV stands for Disabled America Veterans. As a symbol of remembrance and to commemorate the lives of soldiers, servicemen, and women that were lost fighting, little blue Forget-Me-Nots have been created since World War I. The DAV collects these flowers and are distributed to veterans to show our support for them. Annually, 500,000 flowers are created in support for this cause. Joining in, VT Seva Cary has decided to volunteer to create 5,000 Forget-Me-Nots for the DAV. Volunteers gathered at one location to help create these flowers. They were tasked with attaching flowers to a stick as well as adding a paper indicating what the meaning of the flowers were. After being collected we were able to create a gracious amount of Forget-Me Nots for the event. On August 17th and 24th , 35 Youth Volunteers did a great job staying on task, finishing the flowers efficiently, while helping make a big difference in the veterans’ lives.

Best Buddies
VT SEVA Cary volunteers continue their service to participate in a group play meet for Best Buddies at the ASHA foundation on every Sunday of the August month. During these events the special needs children at ASHA were paired up with volunteers to interact and play games such as cricket, soccer, board games, and creative activities. Our 4 youth volunteers were excited to participate in this activity, and did an amazing job assisting the children at ASHA, while also having lots of fun!

Tribute To Bharat
In Celebration of India's 78th Independence Day in August 2024, VT Seva Cary initiated a project to Tribute to Bharat" initiative, aimed at honoring the valiant freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India's independence In this project our youth volunteers got the opportunity by creating infographics that celebrate the lives and contributions of these heroes. We completed the presentation of all 31 Freedom Fighters which has been published everyday over this August Month . We are greatly proud of our youth volunteers & Youthboard for exemplary dedication and enthusiasm and look forward to their ongoing contributions to our future initiatives.
