Volunteering @Run at Peak

VT Seva Cary – Run the Peak (March 8, 2025) On March 8th, VT Seva Cary volunteers supported a vibrant community event organized by the Apex Chamber of Commerce. The event, known as Run the Peak, featured 5K and 10K races with scenic routes winding through many historic areas of Apex. Our team of 4 youth volunteers and 1 adult volunteer played a vital role in ensuring participants stayed hydrated throughout their run. With cheerful smiles and encouraging words, they handed out water and boosted the spirits of runners as they pushed through the course. 💙 Beyond hydration, our volunteers contributed to the welcoming atmosphere of the event—showing that even small acts of service can make a big difference in the success of a community gathering. Their presence reflected VT Seva Cary’s commitment to supporting local initiatives, fostering wellness, and building stronger community connections. This collaboration with the Apex Chamber of Commerce not only highlighted the importance of volunteerism in community events but also gave our youth a chance to experience teamwork, responsibility, and the joy of serving in a lively public setting

Youth Meet

VT Seva Cary – Monthly Volunteer Meeting (February 2025) While not an official volunteering event, VT Seva Cary volunteers came together for our monthly meeting to learn more about VT Seva’s mission and impact. This gathering provided a meaningful opportunity for new and returning volunteers to understand how service initiatives are started, how to integrate themselves into our community’s volunteer network, and how each individual can contribute to creating lasting change. Beyond learning, the meeting was filled with joy and connection. Volunteers participated in interactive games and team‑building activities that helped them get to know one another, strengthen bonds, and build a spirit of collaboration. The atmosphere was one of enthusiasm, curiosity, and shared purpose. For the month of February, 55 youth volunteers participated in this meeting, making it a vibrant and inspiring start to the year. Amy of Sunshine-Be Strong Cards To Bone Marrow Patients

VT Seva Cary – Partnership with Amy’s Ray of Sunshine (March 2025) As a way to support bone marrow patients, VT Seva Cary partnered with Amy’s Ray of Sunshine, an organization dedicated to collecting and delivering cards to bone marrow patients across the USA. Through this heartfelt initiative, our youth volunteers had the opportunity to create 100 beautiful handmade cards and bracelets, each filled with messages of love, courage, and hope. These creations will be distributed to bone marrow patients nationwide, offering encouragement during their treatment journeys and reminding them that they are not alone. The cards and bracelets serve as small but powerful tokens of compassion—bringing smiles, strength, and emotional comfort to those facing challenging times. 💙 This event not only uplifted patients but also gave our youth volunteers a chance to reflect on the importance of empathy, creativity, and service. By channeling their energy into something so meaningful, they learned how even simple acts of kindness can have a profound impact. We hope to continue this opportunity in the future, expanding our reach and touching more lives through the power of service and connection

DAV Flowers

The DAV stands for Disabled America Veterans. As a symbol of remembrance and to commemorate the lives of soldiers, servicemen, and women that were lost fighting, little blue Forget-Me-Nots have been created since World War I. The DAV collects these flowers and are distributed to veterans to show our support for them. Annually, 500,000 flowers are created in support for this cause. Joining in, VT Seva Cary has decided to volunteer to create 5,000 Forget-Me-Nots for the DAV. Volunteers gathered at one location to help create these flowers. They were tasked with attaching flowers to a stick as well as adding a paper indicating what the meaning of the flowers were. After being collected we were able to create a gracious amount of Forget-Me Nots for the event. On August 17th and 24th , 35 Youth Volunteers did a great job staying on task, finishing the flowers efficiently, while helping make a big difference in the veterans’ lives.
