Volunteer Experience - Viraaj Gorukanti

We also got to see the office area of the police officers, the area where they take all the evidence and many more places at the department.

It was an honor to meet with the Frisco Police Department on March 5th 2021. It was an exciting experience to interact with the police officers while offering them token of appreciation lunch provided by VT Seva. It helped me to understand what the Police officers do and also how they help the community to keep us all safe. In the end it was a very good opportunity to provide appreciation lunch and having a nice conversation with the police officers. I would recommend youth volunteers to participate in it and to get to know their local police department. Thank you, VT Seva for giving me this opportunity.

On March 22nd, 2021, we got an opportunity to take a tour of the Frisco Police Department. When we first entered the building, we were met by a police officer who acted as tour guide, gave us an orientation on some programs the Frisco police department offers for children and adults and some things that the police officers do. The police officer was also very funny and also informative and answered all of our questions. The officer also showed us his squad car and explained about the devices in his car. We also got to see the office area of the police officers, the area where they take all the evidence and many more places at the department. Due to COVID we didn’t get chance to visit jail and 911 call center for the safety of the officers. Overall, it was wonderful experience and I recommend all the youth volunteers take part in this program.
