The Next Step is part of VT Seva’s ongoing Youth Empowerment Series, created to bridge the gap between education and real-world careers by offering young minds direct access to industry insights, mentorship, and practical tools for success.

Program Overview

The Next Step: Youth Career Navigator is a free, focused program designed to equip young people (ages 14 - early 20s) with the mindset, tools, and strategies needed to successfully explore careers, secure internships, and build a professional network.

The goal is to demystify the hiring process and help participants move forward with absolute clarity and confidence. The curriculum is built on the facilitator's two decades of experience in talent acquisition, offering an invaluable, insider's view on what organizations look for.

When: Saturdays (Feb 7, 14, 21 & 28)

Time: 8 AM PST | 9 AM MST | 10 AM CST | 11 AM EST

Who This Is For (Youth Focus)

This program is specifically designed for youth who are:

• Exploring future career paths and educational options.

• Building their first professional documents (resumes, LinkedIn profiles).

• Learning how to speak effectively about their strengths, projects, and achievements.

• Preparing for interviews, volunteering, apprenticeships, or first internships.

  
  

  

Guest Speaker:

Each weekly session will include a guest speaker, industry professionals and mentors will be sharing real-world insights, career journeys, and practical advice.

Program Format

Monthly Format:

• One session each week

• One hour per session.

• Hosted virtually (Zoom)

• Guest Speakers at each session

Optional 1:1 Support:

If any participant needs deeper, personalized guidance beyond the group sessions, Bhavishya is available for one-on-one coaching by request to review documents or practice interviews.

Bhavishya Lingam brings 23 years of experience as a recruiter and career mentor, having guided people through every stage of the career journey - from first internships to executive roles. In her work at Amazon, she supports talent acquisition, hiring strategies, and candidate development, giving her a clear understanding of what organizations look for and how individuals can present themselves with confidence.
