Every Saturday morning, VTSeva volunteers come together at the Round Rock Area Serving Center (RRASC) Community Garden with one shared purpose—to grow fresh food and nourish our community. What began as a small weekend effort has grown into a meaningful, consistent service activity that directly supports families facing food insecurity in the Round Rock area.

What We Do
Dec 5th :
At the RRASC Community Garden, volunteers of all ages roll up their sleeves to:
Prepare garden beds and enrich the soil
Plant seasonal vegetables and herbs
Water, weed, and maintain crops
Harvest fresh produce for donation
Each task plays an important role in ensuring the garden thrives year-round and continues to supply nutritious food to those who need it most.
Why It Matters
The produce grown in this garden is donated to the RRASC food pantry, where it becomes part of weekly food distributions for local families. Fresh fruits and vegetables are often the hardest items for food-insecure households to access, and this garden helps bridge that gap—one harvest at a time.
Beyond food, the garden cultivates:
Community connection
Environmental awareness
Youth leadership and responsibility
Hands-on learning about sustainability
Powered by Volunteers
Our Saturday garden activity is made possible by the dedication of VTSeva volunteers—students, families, and community members—who choose to give their time consistently. Many volunteers return week after week, building not just a garden, but lasting relationships and a deep sense of purpose.
This activity is also a wonderful opportunity for youth volunteers to earn service hours while learning teamwork, responsibility, and the impact of grassroots service.
Growing More Than Food
The RRASC Community Garden reflects VTSeva’s commitment to environmental sustainability, hunger relief, and community empowerment. Every seed planted represents hope, resilience, and the belief that small, regular actions can create lasting change.
Whether you’re an experienced gardener or a first-time volunteer, your help makes a difference. Come grow with us—and be part of a movement that feeds both people and purpose.
Together, we are growing hope—one Saturday at a time.
