We learned a lot of cool things like that most police officers never have to use their firearms and that their tool belt alone weighs about 30 pounds! It was a great learning experience and I really had an amazing time.
I am a VT Seva youth volunteer in the Dallas branch. I volunteered at Frisco police station to provide the officers with an appreciation lunch on March 5th, 2021. It was truly an incredible experience, me and a few other youth volunteers had the opportunity to speak with the officers and take photos with them. We also asked them a few questions about their difficult job, and we thanked them for all the hard work they do. It was amazing to clearly see the joy in their eyes from being appreciated and hear stories about their job. It was an impactful experience and I recommend you do the same for our very important police officers.
On March 22nd, 2021, had the privilege to volunteer at a police station in Frisco and even get a tour of the station. The officer who gave us the tour explained what each room was for, made jokes and he taught us about what it’s like to be a police officer. We learned a lot of cool things like that most police officers never have to use their firearms and that their tool belt alone weighs about 30 pounds! It was a great learning experience and I really had an amazing time. I would gladly do it again and I highly recommend all of you readers to try it out too!
