October marked a powerful turning point in our journey to fight cancer. VT Seva Dallas’ 15th Annual Cancer Awareness Walkathon united hearts across the DFW Metroplex, filling Warren Sports Complex with a wave of energy, optimism, and compassion.

More than 100 spirited participants—families, youth, children, and friends from VT Seva and Prajna—came together, standing strong for those facing cancer. This wasn’t just a walk; it was a afternoon brimming with laughter, learning, and purpose, as our community championed early detection and cancer prevention.

The day kicked off with Vinayak Devulapalli ji sharing the inspiring mission behind VT Seva’s global service, followed by warm welcomes from Youth Director Maala Kaundinya ji and an engaging introduction of our keynote guest. Branch Director Neha Bodanki shone a light on the tangible impact of our efforts: just $20 sponsors a cancer screening kit, while $750 covers an entire cancer camp, empowering everyone present to take action and save lives.

Excitement soared as volunteer Siddhant Gurav led a fast-paced Kahoot quiz that turned cancer awareness into a fun, interactive challenge for all ages. Young Akshara Kovvuru wowed the crowd with her confident overview of cancer basics and smart steps for prevention, inspiring youth to be health advocates.
Dr. Sunil Tummala, neurologist and certified yoga trainer and President of Yoga Bharathi, Dallas chapter, energized the gathering with a keynote on yoga’s role in cancer prevention and holistic wellness, then led participants in an uplifting yoga stretch before the big walk.

With motivational placards in hand, walkers promenaded along the route, spreading hope with every step. Our diligent youth team kept the event running smoothly and safely, while everyone recharged afterward with fresh fruit, drinks, and wholesome snacks.

Creativity sparkled at the fundraising stalls run by our unstoppable Youth Team in support of Mahila Arogya Vikas, VT Seva’s essential women’s health initiative. The aroma of chai and samosas mingled with artful henna, bright face painting, and seriously delicious cookies—all for a great cause.
Huge shoutout to our incredible youth and adult volunteers, whose dedication powered every moment. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised enough to fund TWO mobile cancer screening camps or provide 80 free cancer screening kits. That’s real impact—real lives changed.

We closed the day beaming with pride, unity, and renewed determination. Every step taken gets us closer to helping one more woman, one more family, one more life. Together, we walk not just for awareness—but for lasting prevention and unyielding hope!
We thank you all the volunteers and participants for their support and energy
