VT Seva Detroit conducts Bake sale for the Feeding Hope Program

ree

Hunger remains one of the most pressing challenges in our world today. To support VT Seva’s Feeding Hope Annadanam Program, which provides nutritious meals to visually challenged students at Nethra Vidyalaya schools, colleges, and Tribal schools in India, Avni Patel, Arav Patel, Dhruvi Shah, and Shraya Ved came together to organize a bake sale.

The event was held on August 2, 2025, in our subdivision. With the help of our parents, we baked and sold brownies, cookies, scones, banana bread, and fresh lemonade. Posters and flyers helped spread the word, and on the day of the event, we spent the afternoon from 1 PM to 6 PM interacting with neighbors, sharing information about Feeding Hope, and selling our baked goodies.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we raised $1,150, enough to provide over 9 days of meals for all the visually challenged students at Nethra Vidyalaya Institutions and Tribal schools in India.

Reflections from the Team

Shraya’s Reflection

“My bake sale experience has been very rewarding as it feels amazing to help contribute to this cause. I’m very grateful that we could host the event again after last year’s success. We had so much fun baking, advertising, and learning life skills in event planning. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported this cause.”

Dhruvi’s Reflection

“My experience at the bake sale was incredibly positive. Seeing people enjoy the treats we prepared was truly rewarding. I’m proud that our efforts are helping provide nutritious meals for children—ensuring they not only get what they need, but also what they truly deserve.”

Avni’s Reflection

“Conducting the bake sale was a truly meaningful experience. From baking to marketing, it taught me the importance of teamwork and communication. Talking with people about Feeding Hope and encouraging them to support made me realize how even small efforts can make a big difference.”

Arav’s Reflection

“This year’s bake sale for Nethra Vidyalaya was amazing. From baking and decorating treats to setting up, it was wonderful to see so many community members stop by and support. Knowing that our efforts directly benefit visually impaired children gave me a deep sense of accomplishment.”

A big thank you to everyone who came out, supported, and contributed. Together, we are spreading smiles and hope—one bake at a time!
