2024-2025 was a year to remember for NFHS VTS! From creative service projects to community-focused events, our volunteers stepped up, showed up, and made real change. Here’s a peek into the unforgettable and impactful events that defined our year.

High School Club Events - NFHS VTS
9/28/2024 - Fleece and Thank you
On September 28th, NFHS VTS Club teamed up with Fleece and Thank You to bring comfort to kids in hospitals! We spent the day folding and packing cozy blankets, each one stitched with care and kindness. Knowing our work would wrap many kids in warmth made every moment worth it.
10/19/2024 - Trunk or Treat Decoration and Candy Passing for CARES
On October 19th, NFHS VTS Club partnered with CARES for a Halloween celebration to remember. We decorated buses, handed out candy, and shared the joy of the season with families in our community. It was a perfect mix of service and spooky fun!
11/13/2024 - Paper Bag Decoration for CARES
On November 13th, NFHS VTS Club volunteers teamed up with CARES to decorate paper bags for the local food pantry! From bright colors to thoughtful messages and doodles, each design carried a message of kindness; a small act that could make a big difference to someone receiving a meal!!
12/09/2024 - Poster Making for Food Drive
NFHS VTS Club members helped get the word out for our food drive by making vibrant, engaging posters! The drive, which ran through December 17th, collected canned goods, non-perishables, and diapers. We thank everyone who donated in Room 907 and supported our community!
01/11/2025 - Fleece and Thank you
NFHS VTS Club spent the day spreading warmth at Fleece and Thank You! Volunteers helped create cozy blankets for children in the hospital, turning a simple piece of fleece into a hug for kids who need it most. It was a day full of teamwork, compassion, and big smiles!
02/22/2025 - Making Spirits Bright
NFHS VTS Club jumped into action with Making Spirits Bright, helping deliver books to Metro Detroit’s “book deserts.” Our volunteers spent the day sorting and packing stacks of books, making it possible for kids to discover tons of new stories and adventures!!
03/17/2025 - Teen Mental Wellness Cards
Mental health matters, especially for teens balancing school, life, and everything in between. To increase awareness, NFHS VTS volunteers created and posted practical self-care and mindfulness tips around the school building, reminding everyone that their well-being matters every day!
4/2/2025 and 4/9/2025 - DAV Flower Making Event
On April 2nd and 9th, VTS members volunteered after school to create “forget-me-not” flower crafts in honor of and to remember disabled American veterans! This small act of appreciation was a heartfelt way to show our respect and gratitude to those who served, and we’re proud to have contributed to such a meaningful cause!!
5/5/2025 - Teacher Appreciation Week
For Teacher Appreciation Week, NFHS VTS members poured their hearts into making personalized thank-you cards for the amazing teachers who’ve made a difference in our lives! Whether it’s inspiring us, guiding us, or simply being that reliable adult we can turn to, our teachers mean the world to us. These cards were our way of saying “we see you, we appreciate you, and you matter more than you know.”
5/17/2025 - NFHS: Fleece and Thank You
VTS Club volunteered at Fleece and Thank You on May 17th to make fleece blankets for children in hospitals! It was such a fun, hands-on way to spread comfort, hope, and kindness, one blanket at a time! :)
Closing Summary
This year, NFHS VTS proved that service isn’t just about giving back; it’s about building connections, spreading joy, and making kindness contagious. Every event was a spark, and together we created a wildfire of change. We’re ready to carry this fire into next year and make it even brighter!
